1. Duke; I did take the nerve pills. I'm not sure exactly how many, but I know it was more than 5 or 6. Not at one time though STRAKER. Hehe....thank god. I know this, if proof of those little F**king pills did any damage to my body I'm going for 100% disability when I retire from the Army. And you know what else! Ummm...Ummm...Ummm SEE! They did do something! SPLINTY; DUKE; Lets get together and go get our compensation money from the government! We deserve it! Uncle sam owes it to us! Lets get some good lawyers and doctors on our side! Fight for the good of all Gulf War Veterans! Then ... Ummm....Ummmm.....ummmmmmmmmmmmmm. Splinty, send me the god damn turn will ya. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. Who can give them back their lives, and all those wasted years.
 2. Try adding some 300 point victory flags in the direct path of the allies. Or even making an exit zone for the allied force. The AI never seems to make a flanking attack. You can also raise the force quality of the troops to veteran or crack. The AI seems very timid attcking when it starts to get beat up early. And I wouldnt shorten the number of turns, but increase it. Hope this helps. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. 3. Huh? Did someone say something? Hey Duke, clear the **** out of yer Boom Mike fer petes sake! Damn tankers could wreck an iron ball. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. Who can give them back their lives, and all those wasted years.
 4. Splinty; Sorry it's moving along so slowly dude. I'm usually good for at least 2 turns a day. Looks like I will be able to pick it up a little after the 28th. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. 5. Myself and Splinty are off to a slow start. Mainly because my parents have arrived in town and are visiting for thru the weekend. At least we got the setup done. Turns will speed up after they head home. Have a good holiday everyone. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. 6.
quote:
Originally posted by :USERNAME:: I cant imagine the M1A1 without Desert storm. Heavy armor like the m1A1 needs bridging eqpt that can move with it. Its just is too heavy for some parts of the world. If it had to go up against a competant army with top attack weapons and weapons like the buratino, cluster bombs , etc. It wouldnt shine like it did in desert storm.

Good point. That is one of the main reasons for the transformation. But what Duke is saying is, the eastern deserts are still a hot spots. Will we have the same outcome using the itnterim vehicles if we have to do it again?
 7. Ehh.. hell, I don't know what happened. I think splinty is down for the night. We will get it worked out.
 8. Hey Duke; Your batting a thousand. Here's an update....... I don't have any freakn troops on the map! This "ass kicker of the month" is gonna turn out to be "kick Dukes ass this month". ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. 9.
quote:
Originally posted by Iron Duke: Def/Speedy what is the thread? TCP/IP?

Ya, TCP/IP update.
 10.
quote:
Originally posted by Speedy: I just read BTS's last thread. This raises the question of whether we should wait until the release of the 1.1 patch(beginning of next week) before we start this tournament?

Speedy has a good point here. Everyone will surely want to get the patch and start running it right away.
 11. Duke; Boy, a tanker could ruin a wet dream. I vote we start over. If my apponent found out the troops I had, he could toast me big time. Hehe, he's prolly gonna toast me anyway.
 12. Hey! Well, it looks like I will never win an attack PBEM. Thanks for the update.
 13. Nothing will ever match the driect fire, long range killing capabilites on the ground like the modern tank. I can't even imagine desert storm without the M1A1. But I doubt we would be thrown into that type of scenario again without tanks. I just don't see it happening.
 14.
quote:
Originally posted by gunnersman: With all this talk about light armor and such, does this mean we will see 75mm guns again?

The LAV-III, which is going to be the Army transormation vehicle of choice has a 30mm main gun. The Anit-armor capabilities are really being beefed up though.
 15.
quote:
Originally posted by :USERNAME:: I wouldnt be surprised if the russians havent started mounting similar weapons on choppers. The Buratino can stand off at least 3.5 Km. Thats a long squirt for a flame thrower!

I wouldn't say it's any more devistating than our MLRS. The accuracy of long range weapons depends on lots of hi-tech stuff. I wonder exactly how they get their target data for this thing, Other than an observer. The hidden lethality of accurate weapons is tied to the electronic war and the ability to send data over the battle field.
 16. Interesting read. Another area fire mass destruction weapon from the commies. I'd say I wouldn't want to be driving that thing in a war. Kind of like being a flame thrower in CM.
 17.
quote:
Originally posted by :USERNAME:: Bungis scared of the Buratino?

?? Clue me in.
 18.
quote:
Originally posted by Formerly Babra: DEF. GM got their order a week ago. Maybe if you'd shared that TWO weeks ago, it would be insider trading

Oops. Day late and a war short.
 19. For anyone interested, they have made a final decision after testing vehicles here at FT Lewis. The transormation vehicle for the new brigade combat teams will be the GM made LAV-III. That's a little insider trading news for you stock buyers. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. 20. Duke; My file got corrupt or something, I couldn't open it. Please fix or do somefink!!!!
 21. OK Duke, the winner is NO. Equal points for all. Crawl out of your loaders hatch and lets get on with it already!
 22. Duke, Why more points for the Allies in a meeting engagment? And I wouldn't put any time stipulations for the tourney. Lots of people signed up for Von shrads "not so super bowl" tourney and it went way past the desiganted time. People just get busy ya know. Any way, sign me up. Either side is fine. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. Who can give them back their lives, and all those wasted years.
 23. Steve; Thanks for clearing that up. Because ASL was the authority for so long, war gamers seem to judge all rules and norms from it. And for some of us, it's the only form of historical research on WWII we know. Like me.
 24. LOS; That is in fact the precise point I was trying to get at. ASL, being the standard for WWII for so long, does indeed alow to much movement points to the MG42? Many people, including myself, learned alot about WWII weapons from ASL, and never really questioned its accuracy. (didn't have these nice little forums) So it's possible we've been doing it wrong for so long, we think were doing it right.
