Well I must say CM replicates the Air force extremely well. NOW WHERE THE HELL IS MY GOD DAMN AIR SUPPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Two, count them....... one, two....veteran pilots, are off jacking around somewhere on a sunday joy flight while my troops are getting pounded with artillery! If those two fighter bombers fail to make contact with Jeff's force, there is no way in hell I can take that objective. Oh man, C"MON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! their sitting there out in the open like bugs waiting to be squashed!!!!!! It's getting midway into the game now. I will have to make a move soon. Regaurdless if my air support shows or not. DEF BUNGIS.......OUT! -
Where's Meeks?? He's all into that individualism crap too. Hell, sounds to me like he's got himself a new friend here.

DEF vrs Jeff UPDATE. Turn 6. From turn 1 this game has been full blast! Artillery is freakn' flyin everywhere. Squads are hauling ass all over the place. **** is blowing up all over the map. Troops are already panicking. Jeff uncovered a hornets nest of my FO's and chased them around the map with artillery and infantry. What a dumb ass move on my part for placing them all in one spot together. The Crack sqaud that was protecting them did their job, their dying right now, surrounded and at least doubley out numbered by Jeffs Allied infantry. Artillery barrages cover at least half of the map right now, there no place to run or hide. -

The Singularly MOST Frustrating Thing About CM!
DEF BUNGIS replied to Talenn's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Seriously though, even the manual goes into explaining the discipline levels of your troops. The more disciplined, the better they hold fire. I am just finishing up a PBEM scenario with all Crack and elite forces. They do a very good job of knowing when to fire and when to hold. Even when not in a hide or ambush command. So maybe your best bet it to spend a little extra cash for those expirienced troops. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears.
quote:
Originally posted by Snoop: Thoughts on the Tiebreaker I do like the no tree, hilly map a lot. Its different.

Hey speedy, only a tanker would think up some **** like this! He's brain washed. Update on Splinty and I: Splinty is feeling the pressure of my Crack and Elite Glider Battalion (-). I'm keeping his troops far at bay from the objective despite severe punishment from his Arty and Armor. I think when my elite bazooka took out his second Panther, it hurt him pretty hard. However, he is not giving up. It should go to the very end. -
Oh that is one of my all time favorite scenarios. Your reinforcments will come! Not to spoil anything, but you will be very pleased when they do! No garauntee when though. Just make sure your moral stays above 15%. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. Who can give them back their lives, and all those wasted years.

Splinty is really putting the pressure on hard now. My troops are starting to fall back. If I make it to round two, my vote goes for 3000 points. No more that 30 turns. -
The Adrenaline vault has released it's review of Hasbros Squad leader. It didn't do very well. http://www.avault.com/ You know whats really funny is, CGO doesn't even list it's review of sqaud leader under the "WAR" category. It's listed under "stradegy". Now thats a real blow. To bad, really. http://www.cdmag.com/Home ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. Update...... It looks like we will have to finish round one under the old CM version. Splinty is still probing around the objective that I seem to hold firmly. But his artillery is just starting to fall in my sector so lets see what happens. ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears. Ya, it looks like Splinty has stabalized a bit. I had some panic attacks too, but it's always nice to have those Elite platoons hold their ground when others haul ass. Cmon Splinty, bring those panthers back into bazooka range. They all ran off like some little girl driving a scout car! ------------------ The counter-revolution, people smilling through their tears.
