  1. Okay, I've just uploaded v1.1 of the Soviet icons with a more suitable background color (pic above is updated) to GaJ's. The repository version isn't up yet, but I'll update that as soon as it is released. Best hold off downloading from there until you see it's really V1.1, okay!
  2. defensive works\TRP\marker.bmp. Curious to see what you'll come up with. EDIT: no wait, you mean one of the floating icons, don't you? Just put a trp on the map and it should tell you which one.
  3. Bah, I was a little quick and impatient in uploading those floating icons. Way too red. Expect an update some day soon.
  4. Hmm. I messed up the road bridge upload at GaJ's. It's fixed now, but the first 9 downloaders will only have gotten the readme file. Sorry about that.
  5. I've just uploaded three new mods: First, A small collection of 'goaway surrender' icons. Note that you can only use one at a time. Second, a new wooden road bridge. Serious texture stretching going on along various surfaces. Best I could do. Third, by request, a red Soviet variant of my floating icons. In all other respects this mod is identical to the standard version released last week. Enjoy! Tune in next week, when you'll hear Dr. Mord say "Only 15? WTF?"
  6. In your 'Z' folder, just like you would any other mod.
  7. Hey Bram, this is where you went wrong. Do NOT place optional files in the 'JuJu's Red Thunder UI' folder, but in the 'Z' folder like anything else. There's no need to rename anything as options will always be loaded last in this mod. Good luck!
  8. You can only get it at the repository. Don't think I've ever seen that mod on GaJ's site.
  9. Woohoo, Ed's back! Good to see you again here, man. Are you going to do 'that voo-doo that you-do so well' again for RT? If you do, and need me testing again, you know where to find me, right!
  10. And that is exactly what 'Vin's animated text' mod now does! Go get it!
  11. If you mean the red Casualty text overlay, that's due to Vin's animated text mod, not mine. I'm very happy he fixed that. It was a pleasant surprise when I first noticed.
  12. Wouldn't dream of it, Mikey! I'm hoping Rambler makes an RT version of his mod eventually.
  13. 7-zip (.7z extension) is similar to Winzip and Winrar. They all basically do the same thing and each has their own pros and cons, but you should be able to extract any of their files with any of these three programs, just like you regularly would (in my case; right-click the file and then choose extract with Winrar or Winzip, or something similar). That is, assuming that you have one of these programs installed.
  14. Man, don't do that. You made me choke up my wine, there. Ugh!
  15. Thanks to MikeyD on that one, although he doesn't know that. There was this thread, a month back, about upcoming mods for RT. MikeyD posted a picture of the 4BO color. The moment I saw that I it was pretty much set it was the basis for what I was going to go for.
  16. Thanks for the nice comments, guys. Appreciate it. You mean the optional 'Panzer Marsch' loading bar? Golly, somebody actually used that option? I was thinking of doing one with ducks this time, just for a laugh, but in the end they- and the Tigers didn't make the cut. I'll consider it for the next update.
  17. Normally I'm not this vocal on the forums, but I have to step up and defend Mord here. I'm sure he didn't mean anything nasty with his comment. Basically he only complimented you on your presentation. I'm not intending to be one of the old farts, which technically I am, I guess, but had you been here a little longer you would understand that what the old hands here recognize as 'in-crowd' humor, can come over as harsh or even crass to newcomers. This is probably not surprising, as many of us have been hanging around here for 10+ years and as a result we can be a little direct at times. No harm intended. And if it is, you usually know straight away. Just my two cents. Anyway, welcome to the fold. We can't have enough modders, and we were all n00bs here at some point. I know I was. A thick skin isn't required here, but it sure helps at times. Stick around, VG. In the end this is a great place to hang out.
  18. Artistic license, is all. It's the one and only thing where I ditched historical authenticity purely because I love the look of the thing.
  19. Awesome, and you 'fixed' the Casualty marker. Thank you so much!
  20. Thanks! I almost forgot to thank the guys that helped my out lots with files, comments and suggestions: So a big thanks goes out to Marco Bergman, Rambler, PhilM and Der Alte Fritz. It's been a lot of fun (but, boy, am I glad it's finished ).
  21. I just wanted to let you all know that I've just uploaded the new Red Thunder UI -along with a couple of other mods- to GaJ's (NOTE that for now I'm NOT uploading to the repository as I've switched from Winrar to 7-zip archives, which the repository does not seem to allow): - Juju's Red Thunder UI: WHAT'S NEW (in my series of UI mods, that is): - New 'increasing range' concept for the Command & Control icons. This may take a little getting used to. Simple rule of thumb to remember with these icons: The larger the figure you see, the better. For you. There's a separate set for both Axis and Allies. For those who really hate the new icons, or simply dislike switching mods, i've included a neutral text based variant. It's not pretty, but you can't go wrong with them. - New 'wounded' icons that replace the red cross on a white background from my earlier mods. This is intended to reduce the added clutter that comes with the new hard-coded Casualty marker. Two of the old ones are still available as optional files, to keep the old-schoolers happy. - Juju's Red Thunder floating icons: - Once again featuring two optional sets of semi-transparant FOW variants - Juju's Red Thunder foxholes, sandbags and trenches: My old CM:BN mod, tweaked and updated to work with RT's new color palette. - Juju's Red Thunder foxholes, sandbags and trenches: My old CM:BN mod, again, heavily tweaked and updated to work with RT's new color palette. Enjoy!
  22. Me? I didn't test. I merely sent Marco the strings file, is all.
  23. From what I've seen it's always just the unit's direct parent HQ, not the one that's in command as in the example you stated. Still, I find it pretty useful.
