I don't think it is possible to deduct anything other than that 2nd Guards Tank Corps had had losses from those two numbers, and that the numbers do not immediately show the Luftwaffe claim to be wrong. It is possible that it received replacement tanks in the meantime, a number of tanks could simply be mechanical breakdowns, and it is impossible to say what caused any combat losses. 504. sPzAbt was not an SS Formation. It was normal Heer. All the best Andreas -
Penetration of guns against armour
Andreas replied to mav1's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Because CMAK was not developed at the same time as CMBB, and there may have been changes between one game and the next? All the best Andreas -

Unfortunately I can not find the info on Christoph's site. You can also check here, if you speak German. All the best Andreas -
Totenkopf, june / july 1941
Andreas replied to Sgt AA's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Most likely a light truck, such as the Krupp Protze (use a Kübelwagen) for the Pak and the IG18, while the sIG33 needs something more substantial to tow it. Also possible are armoured halftracks, but unlikely in this case, in my view. The prime mover HTs (Sdkfz 7 etc) were probably too valuable for these relatively light guns. Züge gibts wenn France Telecom mich mit Internetanschluss versorgt hat, und die neue Wohnung aufgeräumt ist. Schätze mal nächste Woche. All the best Andreas -
Totenkopf, june / july 1941
Andreas replied to Sgt AA's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Three companies with 11 guns each, organised in two platoons of four guns each with 3,5 cm Pak 35/36, and one platoon with three guns of 5cm Pak 38 per company. Fully motorised (MotZ) in the case of Totenkopf. Per company six Czech lMG for local protection. Battalion HQ, with attached signals section. Check this if you can read German OOB symbolsp All the best Andreas -

Some pictures from the Norwegian Army Museum

Hi, thanks all. I have made all the corrections (I think - I have had too much Hungarian beer and plum brandy), and given the appropriate credit. Let me know if you find other faults please! All the best Andreas -

Well yes. I'll go and correct that too. It was a test. Thanks Andreas -
Any advice on museums in Budapest? I am going twice, once next week, and again in the first week of July. Thanks a lot in advance. All the best Andreas

It works now. I reorganised the site layout and forgot that that would change the URL. All the best Andreas -

Thanks for that, I'll correct that. I visited the place over a year ago, and did not take notes. All the best Andreas -
Went to Oslo last year, this is what I got. Some fairly rare kit and some nice dioramas of the 1940 campaign there. Akershus They also have tons of books about the campaign, down to every last militia platoon, it seems. But all in Norwegian. It is enough to make a man weep. CMBB op idea--thoughts JasonC et al.?
Andreas replied to John Kettler's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
By April 2 1943 the Germans did not know what they were going to do, so I doubt that any intel on what they were going to do existed. Regards Andreas -
I fiercely agree on all counts. All the best Andreas

Big Cat vulnerability + ISs vs. Tigers
Andreas replied to John Kettler's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
So after you struck a T34 with 50 20mm shells its armour weakens by 20%? Now I know why the Red Army fielded AT rifles until the end of the war. All the best Andreas -
B&T High Tide: faulty?

I take it you did not win in Cemetery Hill then. Come to think of it, I never heard of anyone who won that against a human opponent... All the best Andreas -

I wish it was Der Kessel - Berli is back
Andreas replied to Andreas's topic in Combat Mission - Scenario Talk
Added all of Berli's scenarios and maps in an easy DL folder. Yep, that's right, you can now download all his old stuff (some of the best scenarios made for any of the CM games) from "I wish it was der Kessel". What better way to pass the waiting time for CMx2 than playing 'Road to Toulon'? Also fixed the bug on the beta scenario page, thanks to Shmavis for alerting me to it. Enjoy! All the best Andreas -
