  1. Yep! which makes you wonder a bit about it..My guess is an older, underarmored '72 (heh..not to say the '72 isn't old in the first place)Definately not a newer, Kt5 varitey..Not that it'd matter too much as the javelin's a top-attacker..Our dragon ATGM's sucked so bad it's fitting our infantry gets an uber-weapon now The really, really amazing thing is that, not only is it fire and forget, but..notice how little backblast it gave off..And, being a top-attacker..You won't be able to tell where the shot came from..protects the firer extremely well. 2. Think this'll get replaced by the 'WHINE I GOT IT!' thread at some point? [ September 19, 2002, 07:08 PM: Message edited by: mch ]
  3. I've got something to complain about! Our German friends! what's wrong with them..they're being all nice, and acting like they're happy to have it...I haven't seen one taunt yet! Or, maybe 'Woah..look at this tank!' with a screenshot of a blacked-out vehicle..Or, even cheap spoilers! They need to get with the program!
  4. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by mch: Now, if you've seen that javelin vs. T-72 video, you've seen a turret pop! damn thing goes at least 20ft up.. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Right here:(the .mpeg link is in the text) http://www.strategypage.com/gallery/default.asp?target=jx1.htm They probably loaded that T-72 with C4, but..An amazing KO from an amazing weapon system..look for the turret on top of the explosion, you'll see it [ September 19, 2002, 01:24 PM: Message edited by: mch ]
  5. My Mailbox just went on Defcon4 for the coming week, moving scouts to the OP's, positioning ADA, and CAS...
  6. awww... I'm SURE I'll be surprised! They did say something like 300? or so vehicles.. Have fun! That t-34/85 pic is really, really good..BTW, how's the sounds? Haven't heard about it yet..I'm real big on sounds. Much improvement over the demo? [ September 19, 2002, 12:29 PM: Message edited by: mch ]
  7. Hello Parrabellum! Mind awnsering a few questions about a few of the vehicles no-one's sure is in the game yet? 1)Russian T-44? 2)IS-3? 3)KV-85? I'm wondering about those..They in? Also, thanks for the pix. BTW, is the factory a 3 storey? or 2? [ September 19, 2002, 12:11 PM: Message edited by: mch ]
  8. If you look at the knock-out model, you'll see that the turret is off-set from the hull-which would be more normal to happen with WWII munitions..Now, if you've seen that javelin vs. T-72 video, you've seen a turret pop! damn thing goes at least 20ft up..Ok, back on track now..AFAIK, there's no turret pops in CMBB, that I've seen yet.
  9. K.O'ing a jadgpanther with a ricochet from a Firefly...I'm oddly lucky when I play as the Brits.
  10. Yep-jewel cases would put a SEVERE dent in the pile that they're saving for those Lamborghini's they're always talking about
  11. IIRC, someone made one for CMBO..I remember having one. It had the firepower and armor ratings by unit type. I'm sure someone will make another for CMBB, as well. [ September 16, 2002, 11:32 PM: Message edited by: mch ]
  12. Fieldmarshall, This one's already been done to death...Let it rest in peace BTW-coming up on around 3 days for US realase..Woo Hoo!
  13. No chance of letting me borrow it then, eh? This site has some good ones for sale..Mostly eastern-bloc stuff..a few German toys. http://www.tanksforsale.co.uk/ I see that there's a Bren carrier going on e-bay, too.. [ September 16, 2002, 10:30 PM: Message edited by: mch ]
  14. Wow! who owns that Chief? BTW, did anyone hear that story awhile back about the fellow in Sweden who had (among other things) a fully functional, armed Centurion Mk.V? He got in quite a bit of trouble... [ September 16, 2002, 10:16 PM: Message edited by: mch ]
  15. The US ordinance dept contributed this: Although usually fired from the platform, it can be fired from the wheels, with the side members of the platform extended Now, with the sides extended, I think you could fire broadside..
  16. That's a pretty old chestnut to crack on, round there heeer parts. I'd really like to have the wheel mounted-tow capable model.
  17. Hehe..I remember last time there was a shipping glitch, so, a bunch of folks who pre-ordered it last got theirs first, and vice versa..I was expecting all the old-timers to pre-order on the 19th this time around [ September 16, 2002, 12:43 AM: Message edited by: mch ]
  18. I'm pretty excited about it..really looking forward to the double-blind pbem match mania and designing a few scenarios. I'm really, really looking forward to seeing all the surprises BFC has probably hidden from us so far..I think the demo was probably minimal in terrain and buildings for a reason.
  19. Aww Man..Now you're talking I guess the IS-3 would outclass the KT, huh?
  20. You forgot speed and relative target size..Now where's that fast to hull down command :)At the range of a typical CMBO battle, they'd be about even, I think-and I'm sure I'll know in about a minute if I'm wrong, but..If BB can whip up some nice 'ol 3000m tank fights, I'd have to bet on the Panther, too.
  21. Ok..Am I the only one who's looking forward (in the extreme) to see what the CM take on this one is? I still got my $20 on the /85
  22. Sounds like the captured the only kind worth capturing
  23. I'd say the T-34 got better treatment, but, a better tank is a matter of conjecture. The Russians listened to their armor cheifs, and got the nessecary modifications made. The Yanks and Brits, by and large, did not..claiming tactics and training were faulty. I'd still rather have the T-34, even the crappy M40..Knowing that if you're going to burn if hit would undoubtedly change your tactics in battle [ September 14, 2002, 04:57 PM: Message edited by: mch ]
  24. This is what makes us wargamers! we love boring stuff! Hooah! I don't see that it's all that different than CMBO. I read someone's post that said to think of quality levels in BB as one grade lower than the corresponding level in CMBO, and I believe he hit the nail on the head! CMBO handles the same with lower quality troops, negating new weapon effects. Dosen't bother me much, because I always played with low-quality troops..The high quality ones were too Rambo for my liking. One thing I think the demo did very well was not giving too much away. I can't wait to see T-34/85's and Panther G's go at it-but, I think it wold have taken alot of the fun out of the game to have a yawny tank fest scenario. The demo really made me want to see more of the game, i.e: buy it. heh..I already don't want to see another T-34 M40! LOL..those tincans. [ September 14, 2002, 12:58 PM: Message edited by: mch ]
  25. The 'ol SL scenario "Hube's pocket" from COI-That one was great. heh..this thread should have a 'nostalgia incuding' warning on it brings back lot's of memories [ September 13, 2002, 02:44 PM: Message edited by: mch ]
