Mark IV, yes I think scavenging for ammo is important but I think it will definitely need more work for developers (my point of view of course only) than say implement the movie feature. I think I would like to see the movie feature implemented first. I can play without ammo scavenging for now but I think to my over all enjoyment movie feature will add much more, personal opinions only. Peter

One time I found my self yelling at my armor "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ?!, FIRE!!!....FIRE!!!" units and when a first Pershing got nailed I loudly screamed with joy "YEEEEEES!!!!!", I tell you I had some nerve-wracking moments there. I think you did a great job here and I would call your work "a piece of art" ! Keep up the good work Bill. After some more playing I will try to work on Close Combat 1 map conversions and probably work on St. Lo campaign based on Close Combat 1. Woooooow, what a great battle I had this morning playing Elsdorf for a first time ! No question this was my greatest wargaming experience of my life! Adrenalin was flowing through my veins in buckets !!! It didn't start pretty well as yankees were mowing down my infantry but my 50mmAT gun was hidden until Priests and some armored cars came a bit closer then I gave them un-hide command and BANG BANG BANG, 2 Priests dead one M4A1 half-truck gone + 1 M5A1 !!!Then one Jumbo came and removed my 50mm AT gun from the battlefield. Shrecks took care of 2 Shermans one of them was 105. Though I was still loosing badly in some on the left side of the map. Then when the 4 Tigers showed up things turned for the better they started to clean up the enemy all over the place. I lost 2 Tigers to Pershings but my 2 Tigers + King Tiger and one more Tiger took care of almost all the Allied armor, the only ones that escaped were M24 chaffies as they just drove to fast for my armor. I was a bit too quick in some decisions and not carefull and due to that I lost 2 Mark IVJs and 2 Wespes. My Hetzer had some fun too with some infantry...Amazing battle, I'm having hard time describing the battle all the scenes running through my head, I wish we had a movie option in CM so that I could save the battle into a movie and watch it, it would have been a great show to watch. I did also play last night playing Ardennes operation and I won by second battle. In the first battle I got some shermans but I lost all my armor. In the second battle I stopped cold Allies from the town. risc PS: I played with Full Fog, historical setup PS2: Final Score - Total Axis Victory (31:61) I have lost 7 vehicles, allies lost 19, allied casualites 290+(don't remember how many actually dead) axis infantry loses 144 (don't remember how many actually dead) [This message has been edited by risc (edited 07-16-2000).]

Oh man I just had a battle of my life with scenario called Elsdorf, I kicked the yankee ass all over the place (total axis victory) on the first try, it was an amazing battle. Anyway I wish there was an option in CM that would let me save all the turn movies into one big movie so I could watch the whole thing from the beginning to the end. Any chance this could be added in the future ? Since the turns are already done done it shouldn't be hard to save the data from all the turns and then let the engine process it...BTS guys what's your comment ? risc

I'm having the same problems as you guys. I'm using Diamond Viper V770 TNT2 Ultra using Detonator 2 (5.22) driver. When I first run the game things will be fine, though menu in the game shows some weird colors. When I abort the battle and go to scenario selection screen the text is all messed up and so will be the after battle report screen etc... I wonder if BTS could take a look at this issue and say hey guys we could do something about it or sorry its the win2000 + driver combo issue... I have been trying to get this going well since the beta demo came out...so I tried a lot of different versions of driver (I only use nVidia drivers - which I think are the best for me) but no luck... Maybe when MS released DirectX 8 this summer which will hopefully be done for win2000 as well maybe then things will improve. I'm running out of ideas currently... Yeah things can get pretty bad sometimes. When I was living with my Ex some time back I used to have game called Grand Prix 2, Formula 1 simulator. I used to play it a lot and my girlfriend was getting a bit mad that I'm spending more time with the stupid game than with her, you know that talk "you don't love me anymore you...you love that stupid machine!!!" bla bla bla...we moved together shortly after that and I put away the game for a like week just to take it easy for the start. She was asking about GP2 all the time so I let her play for a while. Next thing I know she is racing 4 - 5 hours a day !!!! I go home from work thinking what my girlfriend will cook for me tonight and as I'm approaching my appartment door I'm already hearing car engine noise and a lot of shifting, I'm thinking oh great no food tonight. I didn't even get a kiss or say hello, her eyes glued to the screen, both of her hands on the real joyctick She goes: "Sorry I didn't cook today go and get a pizza and go watch TV or something." While she is playing on my chair with my computer arrrrrr!!!! She won't even let me play for few minutes !!! So guys be very carefull... Well I'm in Toronto, Canada and I sure am expecting CM by the end of this week. I pre-ordered last year around september or so , so I was hoping to see it earlier than some people who ordered about a week ago ! For now I'm playing Deus Ex demo, Terminus demo and I'm in the process of getting a new job so this helps not to think about CM. If I don't get it by the end of next week I'm going hunting for it with my polished MG42 , anyone want to join me ? Peter
