  1. http://www.jsonline.com/news/state/mar02/31536.asp Sad, but imho it's just Darwinism working it's magic. Redbastard [ September 08, 2002, 01:51 PM: Message edited by: redbastard ]
  2. RedBastard vs Mortar Twas a dark and stormy night... On seeing the map and the conditions I figured that whatever action there was, was going to be quick and brutal. So I decided to link up all my squads and push up one side of the map. My thinking being, mass as much fire power up front so that if I made contact with part of Mortar's forces I could make quick work. During my advance I met up with a Inf. sound contact, which was kinda creepy as this Ghostly soldier marched calmly through my squads. Nearing the last 1/3 of the map, my far left squad came under fire and took a few minor causulties. I quickly tried to turn my troops to face the threat and was greeted by 2 more of Mortar's squads who marched calmly into my line of fire. 2 squads lost their lives and the 3rd, chewed up nicely, broke and ran. Figuring their might be more where they came from on the left, I moved a few more squads over. Right into the waiting arms of the rest of Mortar's men who had gotten around behind me . Needless to say, I had my ass handed to me. After blasting my squad leader and most of 3 squads the poles vanished into the night giggling quitely to themselves. O'well. Maybe I can make it up in Mighty Mouse. Allthough after the first couple of turns, it doesn't look good. Sure is fun though. Redbastard

  4. I finally got my copy of CM yesterday. Hooray! In my first battle (which shall remain nameless), I was trying to move one of my US halftracks back from a suprise German assualt. He was moving fast towards a bridge and the safety of the American lines when a Puma rounded the corner and peppered him with MG fire. The it happened. Apparently the driver of the HT was hit because it veered of the road and proceeded to roll down the bank and nose deep into the river! The gunner then bailed and took cover in some nearby trees. It was so cool! I would have expected in other games for the HT just to stop and say "Knocked out" or something. No. In CM it careens off the road and into the river! Very cool. I can't wait to get deeper into this extraordinary game! Thanks for listening to me babble, Redbastard
  5. I'm hanging out in Puyallup waiting....waiting. Ordered last Monday so I may have slipped into the second batch of CDs they are burning. Hope not though. The weathers been nice the last two days though. But I'd rather be inside blowing stuff up . Less skin cancer that way. But my testicles are starting to glow green from being in front of this monitor. O'well, makes it easier to find the bathroom in the middle of the night. RB
  6. Woops. Just noticed that this was annouced earlier in another thread. Sorry. RB
  7. Posted on SimHQ today: "- Got an email from Battlefront that Combat Mission has sold out its first publishing run and a second run is now being made of the WWII tactical sim / strategy game. All existing orders will be honored, but they will be out of stock of the game for about a week. Posted 06/26/00 1:30 PM ET" Good News:CM seems to be a great success, with follow up products almost assured. Bad News:Another week wait!!!! RedBastard
