  1. Yeah, I think there should be an option that all sides start at war with all other sides.
  2. Moving land units off transports. I set the transport for the yellow dot. Next turn I try and move infantry or armor onto land. Sometimes it goes and sometimes it doesn't. I think it might have to do with what type and how much land is nearby but not sure. Anyway, a turn is wasted and it's frustrating.
  3. Hey, I'm sick and tired of arguing with you. Go ahead and do whatever you want.
  4. Your attitude is "my way or the highway." This isn't real life. Empire is an abstract game. It's not even close to being real. The ruleset is completely modifiable. For a reason. So everybody can play the game the way they want. They can even make new units to suit what they want to do. But you don't give a sh!t about that. You want everybody to play the game the way YOU want them to.
  5. What is the point in hassling bro? Do you guys get some kind of perverse pleasure out of it? Why shouldn't he be able to play the game the way he wants? Bro fyi when the game comes out, you can change the ruleset to do what you're asking. It will be easy and you can save the rules so you don't have to do it every time you start a game.
  6. Don't be a total jerk. I simply made a suggestion. That was it. There was no lack of respect. In your warped mind you can interpret it any way you want. I don't care.
  7. You have to be the biggest @sshole I've seen in a long time.
  8. Nope. I don't want to have to go around a random map that's all blacked out and delete all resources before I play it. What is your friggin problem anyway? What exactly do you have against an option?
  9. I haven't been on this forum for about a week. Came back and am reading about some people who don't like artillery bombarding ships. Others don't like the tech. Etc Etc. Well, guess what. With the full game you can make your own rule sets to suit. You can set arty firing distances. You can set no tech. It's very flexible. Anything that's in the rule set can be changed. What can't be changed is resources, diplomacy and trading. I just can't understand that, with a game that has so many options, these three are fixed. And I don't know about anybody else, but failure to allow them to be disabled will be a game breaker for me.
  10. That's what happens when you have resources, period.
  11. This is what happens when you put resources in a game that shouldn't have them. For multi I can maybe see their worth, but not solo against the computer AI. What's really needed is the option to eliminate them so the AI and human players can concentrate on strategy instead of spending all that time looking for a food resource.
  12. I don't either. It was a suggestion. If enough people like it, fine. It would be nice, then, for the transport to land and the infantry to disembark in the same turn. Not a big deal though.
  13. NOBODY is suggesting that Brit turn this game into something very simple. We are suggesting the OPTION for that. Does anyone understand the difference? That makes for a flexible game and everyone can play the way he wants. You all might be surprised how many people still play the original Empire Deluxe or one of them from Killer Bee.
  14. That would be nice. Other than random games, things like resources, diplomacy, trading make no sense in historical scenarios so it would be helpful if they could be turned off one way or another.
  15. Your reply makes no sense whatsoever. Adding a check mark to include or not include a benefit would be simple. A week? You're in dreamland. Tell you what though. I'm going to just keep playing Empire Deluxe Enhanced. You can be king of the fanboys for EoS. Have fun.
  16. First off I'm not trying to force Brit to do anything. It's his game and he can do it any way he wants. If I don't like the end result then I don't have to buy it. Simple. Second, I don't need Empire all over again. I already have it. Empire Deluxe Enhanced from Killer Bee Software is an excellent game and I play it all the time. But I can see a potential here and if it comes to pass then fine. Now, can you explain how making certain features an option would screw up the game?
  17. I can state my opinion just as you can. I've been playing Empire games for 20 years and I find resources an annoyance. They're so much of an annoyance for me that they're really a game killer. If you like them, fine. But don't try and fob off your preferences on everyone.
  18. I think the attrition calculations are nice, but in gameplay I pay zero attention to it.
  19. I have been having problems getting infantry to load onto transports from land and, sometimes, onto land from transports. I know about moving the transport to the dot and am usually successful but this system doesn't seem to be working very well and imo needs to be made easier and more intuitive. I think one thing that could be changed is the ability to have infantry and armor able to attack cities directly from the transport. Having them go on land first and then attacking seems clunky.
  20. If I've said it once I've said it...... The strength of Empire games is its simplicity. Real frankly in sp games the resources are an annoyance. I haven't done any diplomacy or trading but suspect I won't like that either in sp. Tech for short periods like through ww2 or maybe 1900-1940 would be ok but I would normally play without it. It looks like it will be easy to set up rule sets and I like the idea of setting up several in different time periods. Then they can be used for historical battles also. And I keep repeating ad nauseum (sorry), things like resources, diplomacy and trade really need to be optional.
  21. Then why don't you just report it. It's an error. So what?
  22. Re 2, check out destroyers and cruisers. They should be able to spot subs.
  23. If you look at ww2, carriers were indeed king. Modern times I think it's subs.
  24. Actually carriers should own at sea.
  25. Yeah, subs should be VERY effective against transports and battleships. Those two should not be able to see submerged subs. Destroyers should be very effective against subs. Cruisers are middle of the road, somewhat effective against subs, good against destroyers, very good against transports, ok against battleships. I believe those tweaks could be made in the ruleset.
