  1. I've been looking at that too, Dale. In fact, I did correct another upcoming Operation that should be posted in less than a week on units of the US 43rd Tank Battalion. By narrowing the "No Man's Land" feature, it became much more playable. In my case, however, by so doing I had to re-situate all my units. They were moved back to the edges of the map But it was worth it. It seems to play very well now (the new one). I'll take a look at Desobry again with this in mind. Good observation, Dale. 2. So I take it Nimtz is still alive? This game offers bitter and blessed surprises and that is even playing the same scenario twice. You never know. How many times have I said, as I run replay again and again, "What in the world got my tank?" Eventually I'll find it hitting "play-pause..play-pause." 3. I read it, but looks like you have gotten it resolved. I'm glad. Must have been quite frustrating...WB ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
  4. So you are okay, now, Greybeard?... ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
  5. The snows were just beginning to get heavy at this point in the Battle of the Bulge. That is why it was designed in this way... ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
  6. Putting one up today that seems to do well in PBEM on the Game Depot at TGN-CMHQ http://combathq.thegamers.net Did anyone play Periers - Roaring to the Rescue? Did you get the wounded Germans out of the clutches of the evil Amis? Well this one is a little more serious. Based on a historical event when a group of US Rangers infiltrated behind German lines to capture retreating enemy soldiers. General Gerow became concerned about their welfare and decided to send a tank column to reinforce them at a crossroads near Zerf. It became quite an adventure for the Rangers and the Relievers You've got a fight on your hands. I'll upload it soon as I finish here and I am sure Madmatt will put it into the Depot today. ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com

A new one is going up today, Juardis. I think you'll find this one to your liking. Its a sleeper, well tested by the Raider BootsN'Tracks Team. I think it would work well for you and Havermeyer for your next "have at it," but let him have another chance in Prum You gonna do it? Relieving the Rangers should be up by tonight at CMHQ http://combathq.thegamers.net Go to the Scenario Depot and it should be at about the head of the list. I'm glad you are enjoying these, fellas. That was my purpose. ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com

  11. Thanks for the encouragement, fellas. We'll give it a shot. Look for it to be posted real soon, probably in the CHHQ Depot. I look forward to these Italian, NA projects coming up too. 13. I don't think its any secret so I don't feel that I am breaking a rule by saying a series of CM games will be forthcoming. They include East Front, North-Africa Meditteranean, and who knows what else? As long as the full-fledged support of you guys is out there, I am sure Charles, Steve and the rest of us will keep putting 'em out there. All of those themes you mentioned I have not seen being worked on by anyone I know. If you got the itch, Panzerwolfy, scratch it Go ahead. I look forward to your handiwork. ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
  14. Thanks for the heads up, Buckeye. Good constructive criticism with a positive approach such as yours can't help but be well received. That is what we need! ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
  15. My pleasure. Wish I could help you more..WB ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
  16. You probably need to place the reinforcement marker, Frank. Open the scenario design perview screen and look for it along the edges of the map where you two sides were positioned initially. It looks like a road sign and will have the color of the side. Find it, click on it, type "P" and put it in the general area where you want reinforements to enter (not water or thick trees, please!). That sounds like the problem....Wild Bill ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
  17. Nah, you don't want her to fall in love with CM...unless you have two computers ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
  18. Nobility and loyalty do not come with age, they come through character. And its good to have the youth who will take up the banner holding it high and proudly. I think it will always be that way. You and your brother will do well. When you are ready to kick his butt, I am sure you will put forth your best effort Good luck to both of you!...The pontificating Kunel! ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
  19. Looking forward to seeing it, my friend. Let us know when its ready for play!... ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
  20. Much more, Joe! I don't know how accurate a score you will get doing it that way. I think the AI gets a little confused. Like you, at first glance, you would think that it would work, but that is not always true. A better test would be the straight battle and see how it comes out. Then you can improvise and make changes to make the victory you are seeking possible. Since you can't get an accurate point count, I can't think of any other way than testing the actual fight. It might work for you, in a two player context, or if the human player is the US so the troops will stay in the trucks. It will be challenging for you. Good luck! ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
  21. It does make the creative juices flow, doesn't it, Joe! ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
  22. ...Of a scenario that is really not within the time frame of the game, but is very playable and challenging. I have one coming up on the British para raid on the radar station at Bruneval. I had to pull some tricks out of my hat, but it is interesting to take the building, then fight your way off the map to the supposed shore area and wait for the boats to come in and rescue you. Of course you can't load boats in the game, only unload them, but you can exit them as though they were climbing aboard the rescue craft. So even though the dates are wrong, the battle is fun. Thoughts? ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
  23. Indeed. That is the purpose of the scenario. A good designer puts in flags to draw a crowd. You need to just get the hell outa there! Don't be enticed ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
  24. Madmatt and I are signing the contracts now Fionn is my legal representation and will provide all reports on the encounter ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
  25. Andreas, my friend! Thank you! Its a definite cross country adventure with surprises all along the way. And that is no spoiler either Just be prepared for surprises, whichever side you choose. This one has them in abundance! How did that recoiless rifle do in combat? Ah, better not talk about that Thank you again! ------------------ Wild Bill Lead Tester/Designer Combat Mission-Beyond Overlord billw@matrixgames.com
