  1. Okay...so Angelfire SUCKS!!! I moved them to GTE. They should all display. Now, back to the matter at hand. See what I mean. No LOS and whammo my tank dies soon after. Not Cool! TeAcH
  2. Funny you should mention that Polish Drop Zone! I was thinking of the very same one! That was a great map and fun to play. Ill think Ill try to make that one! I am glad you all enjoyed Schijndel. Question? Did the presence of the AA gun help at all? TeAcH
  3. Thanks Lorak...did it. Hope that works. Guess I cant gripe about Angelfire. It is free after all. TeAcH
  4. Okay. I checked and it is at the Realistic setting. Also, the setting only changes the sizes of the units not the buildings so it doesnt seem to be an issue in the matter anyway. I took two more shots from the reverse angle. Remember...these are at that Realistic scale: Charles? Steve? Any comments on this issue? Thanks, TeAcH [This message has been edited by TeAcH (edited 06-28-2000).]
  5. Ill check the scale again. Thats a good point. I think it was realistic but Ill see. I hope thats it. BTW, I reloaded my pic above. For some reason it stopped loading. Sorry to those that missed it. TeAcH
  6. Just curious to see what the comments are from any of you out there that have played this one? Thanks TeAcH
  7. Okay, here's one for you all to digest! (BTW Scott, I agree with you that there is a bug here) LOS in the game needs an adjustment. You'll see my pic below. In it, two tanks are trading shots. How? You see, this is wrong. Mostly because of the fact that the game purports to have true LOS but in actuality, it doesn't. What effect does that have on gameplay? A lot!. First, my pic (see below) I should point out that the Tank destroyer is behind the third house and shares the same elevation. Tell me how that is NOT a flaw? Now, from a tactical perspective, how can I effectively plan an attack using cover and concealment when tanks can fire through bocage, smoke, and houses? BTS, you guys are great, no doubt about that. And you are very responsive to our questions and comments. Can you take another look at the modeling and or LOS issues? Is the engine tapped out in that regard and is this as good as the LOS is going to be? Again, Scott, I agree with you man. Im not here to rip CM apart. I love the game! Thanks TeAcH [This message has been edited by TeAcH (edited 06-28-2000).]
  8. Mine was on CD for Windoze. Hey Don1958, where on Whidbey are you? I used to live there (in Freeland) for a few years and worked for ICSO. TeAcH
  9. I got it Thursday the 22nd in Everett, WA. I buddy, also in Everett, got his on June 19th! TeAcH ------------------ "Ah-ah, I know what you're thinking. Did he fire 6 shots or only 5. Well to tell you the truth in all this excitement I've kind of lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum - the most powerful hand gun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question, do I feel lucky. Well, do ya punk?"
  10. No offense Madmatt but I'm a little gun-shy, thats all. I understand the point but 2 days of crashes and reinstallation of all drivers makes me hesitate a little. I have all of the graphics added for sure. Ill give it a week and come back for the sounds! Thanks TeAcH ------------------ "Ah-ah, I know what you're thinking. Did he fire 6 shots or only 5. 11. Good ideas from all! I like the cow ideas too Tom. Seems like that would work just fine. Anyone else have any tile ideas? Post em please! TeAcH
  12. I was getting some serious blue screen crashes in CM with that Mod Pack. VxD DSOUND Stuff. I was pulling my hair out. Now that you mention it, it seemed to happen mostly when aircraft was overheard. I reinstalled the game and put the your graphics mod back in and voila! Im still a little afraid of putting the sound files back in even though I REALLY liked them. Anyone else have crashes with new "fix"? Thanks TeAcH ------------------ "Ah-ah, I know what you're thinking. Did he fire 6 shots or only 5. Well to tell you the truth in all this excitement I've kind of lost track myself. 13. Thanks! Yeah, I do plan on doing some more but I havent decided on which ones. So many come to mind. Any ones in particular that you would like me to try to develop? Thanks TeAcH
  14. Remember Schijndel Road from Close Combat 2? I sure do. That was a great scenario. It was also the first one I wanted to adapt to Combat Mission and I think it turned out great. To see the map, click below: http://HOME1.GTE.NET/res00b57/Schijndelmap.jpg If you want the scenario, here is the link to get it. http://www.angelfire.com/wa2/dteachw/Schijndel_Road.cmb Try saving the file (right click?-Save Link). If that doesn't work, email me and Ill send it right back. BTW, Anglelfire has been flaking out so keep trying. ------------------ "Ah-ah, I know what you're thinking. Did he fire 6 shots or only 5. 16. Ok..gonna make this quick and get back to the game. I created a small farmland quick battle posing the SS combined force against my polish airborne. The battle raged for awhile. Towards the end, a german MG halftrack, that was apparently out of ammo, drove past some of my infantry on a direct coarse for what I though was a flag. It then parked on a hill nearby an expended police 2in mortar team and sat there...in the open. 4-5 turns went buy and it sat there. I was close enough to see it still had 2 men inside. I then sent a 1 man gammon bomb attack squad right at him across open ground and he didnt move. The gammon bomb blew it up. Now, I am familar with the game and was thus cognizant of several factors which I looked for. The halftrack was not imobilized nor did it appear to have been panicked ( I know that cause I didnt shoot at it as it drove by). Don't know what happened. Perhaps I am missing something or it is a bug. Thanks and now Im back to the game!! TeAcH ------------------ "Ah-ah, I know what you're thinking. Did he fire 6 shots or only 5. 17. I recently had one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences in a really really long time with my brand new Combat Mission CD. It all started when I created a quick battle putting a 400 point SS mechanized unit on an assault of a small farmland where my 500 point regular Polish airborne poised for a rugged defense. I barely won but what a game that was. Man...this is why I own a PC! (and you can quote me on that one BTS). Now to my question. I'd like to see the option of saving a map that is generated in Quick Battle. Is this possible? I mean, there are inevitably going to be times when the random map is going to be downright awesome and demand a replay. Can we save it? Thanks again for a game that delights! 18. Thanks for the update too BTS. I appreciate it. I still am a bit frustrated though. I ordered awhile back and then got a buddy to buy it recently. Even though I got an email just prior to the shipping stating my credit card was expired and to quickly give you a new one so I could "keep my place in line" combined with the fact that my friend and I both had our credit cards charged on the same day, he got the game on Monday while I still wait. He lives less than 5 mins from me too. So, yeah, Im frustrated with the issues that came up in that regard. Sincerely, TeAcH
  19. No response from you Madmatt so Ill assume you are playing the game a lot! Dont blame ya! Wish I had mine. Not here yet! TeAcH
  20. I would say they are 00000200 and 00000201. Again, my opinion only. During the game, they seem to stand out from the others based solely on the hiss, or crackle in the explosion. I thought that perhaps the sound file included a dirt and sand shower post explosion effect, but I wasnt sure if that was the intent. It still sounded "hissy" to me. Thanks again for a superb mod. Cant wait to see more tanks. That STUG is downright impressive. Are you guys tinkering with the models at all or is it simply a texture mapping tweak. 21. Hi Madmatt and crew. I like the graphics patch alot. Great job! However, I think the sound file needs a minor tweak (personal opinion here). Some of the explosions sound like they have too much of a "hiss" in them like they are oversampled. Otherwise, the others are good. Just my 2 cents. Thanks and I cant wait to see the other vehicle graphics!! TeAcH ------------------ "Ah-ah, I know what you're thinking. Did he fire 6 shots or only 5. 22. I suppose they were resampled from actual sounds in 44k just the original sounds upgraded from 22k, right? TeAcH
