  1. nope, sadly, neutral steering is not in CMBB. not for Kingtiger, tiger, jagdpanther at least.
  2. Finally, after all the waiting! thnx!
  3. A little story to add. in '40 PZii 20mm couldn't do much against char and S-35. But the germans used the rapid 20mm gun against the apx turret of these tanks, creating a 130dB+ sound inside the tank. Crews surviving this were deaf and bleeding from the ears.... And this is just a singe 20mm, imagine what a quad 20mm will do.... S.
  4. PZIV rear is the weakest of all tanks in Kursk put your atr rifles in forrests and hide, let the et pass, and then shoot. KO several pzIV. This tactic would be difficult with infantery around...
  5. playing the demo. Surprised to see that the T34 got easily KO by pak 37, I thought It would have been tungsten. Playing on the german side, no tungsten.. hmm, maybe a shot trap on the turret front? and what about the armour quality of the early T34? As far as tungsten is concerned, During the Battle of France alone 75.000 tungsten rounds were produced. (most of them went to the tanks, none to paks). 21.000 were already issued to the troops on 10 june'40. Usage was well documented during Guderain's crossing of the Aisne. So, maybe this is the same situation in Russia in the beginning of the war. All tungsten going to offensive units, almost none to defensive (paks). thoughts? S.

  7. Hi, nice mod. to the question of 16 dec, there was no snow in the Ardennes. Snow fell a few days later.
  8. I asked the same thing, Apperently those turrets where designed for anti-aircraft use. Mr Hofbaurer: yes. The standard 2cm/coax recon open turret setup (can't remember the designation) used for the PSW 222, 234/1 and elsewhere including the HT version you mention (250/9 IIRC) specifically provided for aiming at aircraft with the 2cm used in that turret's mount. http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/Forum1/HTML/016096-2.html
  9. --> 20mm gun in Lynx cannot fire on aircraft I noticed that the 20mm gun in the German halftrack could also target an airplane. Could the barrel be elevated enough in the half-open turret?

  11. Actually it was planned too for CM (as they were a lot for other vehicles aka M16, Brummbär, etc) I still have the original vehicles list somewhere... But then they needed to cut in due to time-restraints. I'll hope they'll add all those to CM2. S.
  12. Just a small question of the AVRE mortar and max distance. http://www.shadowsfolly.com/WWII/Britain/Churchill.htm --> Fired 40lb bomb 80 yards CM States max range was 250m??? Does someone has more info on this S.
  13. Tiger wrote: " I'd rather see bunkers the terror that they were way back in the demo scenario valley of trouble" I totally agree. Bunker slits are now some sort of magnets for tank rounds of all calibre. :-( S.
  14. Steve, one question. Why do tanks that do have neutral steering, take longer to turn then tanks that don't have that option? especially important on tanks with slow turret speeds (a la tiger 1) and turretless vehicles, (jadgtiger, jadgpanther). Was it the weight of the vehicles that is the parameter of the turning speed? Cromwell VIII: 24 secs Panther A: 36 secs Jagdpanther: 36secs M36B1 Jackson: 36 secs Sherman Easy 8: 38 secs Lynx: 38 secs Panzer IVG: 42 secs --> Sherman M4A1: 42 secs --> Sherman Jumbo 76: 44 secs Stug IIIG: 46 secs Pershing: 46 secs --> Tiger I: 52 secs --> King Tiger: 60 secs Jagdtiger: 60 secs Super Pershing: 60 secs Churchill VIII: 66 secs and wat about that odd 24 seconds of the Cromwell VIII? S.
  15. IS3, the first time it was seen in the west was on the parade in Berlin. It's still a discusion if they where used against Japan in the end.... Valera may know more about this. S.
  16. Tom, maybe you can answer this; What I'm curious about is the expansion pack for CM, is it still a go?? Steve? I'd really like to see the Brummbär, or the M16 Halftrack or the PSW 234/4 S.
  17. Fernando, why do you think the germans increased the tiger top armour to 40mm? And 16mm top is nothing, even a dud 150mm shell would smash trough that thin plate. S.
  18. Reload of the Sturm was about 10min for and experienced crew. It wouldn't shoot much in a game, max of 6,(had only a load of 13) but it would come in handy in a dirty city fight where you would blow up just a piece of the street in stead of capturing it Plus ,it's a damn fine looking vehicle!!! Brummbär had the same reload as the Hummel, maybe a bit slower as the Hummel was open topped. Maximus, The brummär could also fire direct, like the Hummel! Why do you think it had such a thick font superstructure 100mm!! more info http://www.achtungpanzer.com/brum.htm S.
  19. Rollstoy, the Sturmtiger was originally on the vehicles list, but due to time restraints, the lesser important vehicles were left out. especially much of the German HT. BTS said they may add vehicles in a future patch. Personally I hope for the my beloved Brumbär S.
  20. Right on Fionn, and don't forget the larger turret compartement of the JT. S.
