  1. No Fj troops/weapons? No jadpanther or Tiger IVB Posche turret? IIRC, the were in the noirmandy Theathre
  2. Quick question, is it playable for both factions? thnx
  3. Hi, I just wanted to know if you can also play as axis? When i start it up, only Russian forces are there. thnx
  4. impressive. you'll also need a need picture change on the bottom for the PZIV F1 what are the real values of the 17lbs gun? [ June 10, 2007, 10:21 AM: Message edited by: Silencer ]
  5. to bad you can't use the T34 in 41. Germans used quite a lot of them....
  6. additional question, In the readme, it says you can reassign crews from captured equipment, before the beginning of next battle. however, I don't see them at all. and after battle report, this isn't possible. or I'm I missing someting?
  7. Xp that is left over from the previous battle, and that u don't use after the battle (--> on the 'promotion' screen, are these points kept and transfered to the next promotion after battle?)
  8. yup, the pan had a single shot 25mm gun, same as the 25mm atg. and the char had indeed a coax MG in the turret and a hull MG next to the hull gun. The 75mm hull gun could only be lowered and raised (char Bis) and the hull MG was fixed in placed. The aiming of the hull gun (left-right) was done by the driver by moving the tank.
  9. can u guys provide me with a linky plz for the tools?
  10. Hi, I noticed there are some inconsistencies in the armour ratings. ex, the 38(t) did'nt have 50mm front armour at all in poland or the BOF (only later, in Russia, it was upgraded to 50mm) which files i need to open to changes values? (if it's possible) thanks.
  11. A tank can handle a lot of small arms fire. I remember a story (it's on the WWII online boards, of a real Tiger Ace who fighted in NA). They captured a sherman, and just for the fun of it's, they fired at it with a 20mm quad gun. (with some crew members inside). They fired at it a the sides, and besides some shot up wheels and stowage, not much damage was done. The only thing scary was the banging of the 20mm rounds against the hull.... (those guys seems to have done strange stuff)
  12. yup, they did. even more under favorable circumstances. (40mm@100m@30°) That's why the the Axis invented side skirts. (which additionally has also a protection versus shaped charges)
  13. actually, the Pzgr40 in '41 for 37mm and 50mm was quite common. If you check the production numbers, (out of my head), 1 out or 3 37mm rounds was a special round. for the 50mm, it was 1 out of 5.
  14. Why can't there be a game the is a mix of Hearts of Iron 2 for strategical and TOW for tactical. Close combat 4&5 did it already on a small scale. Rome TW and Medieval 2 do it a bit further. The only game that I know of, but only navy sadly, is Pacific Storm. (production, research, supply etc and tactical combat) [ June 04, 2007, 03:39 AM: Message edited by: Silencer ]
  15. yes, that is def. a problem. 20mm HE would rape light trucks in seconds. My guess is (I know this from another game), they gave the cars-trucks a little armour of 5mm, so they wouldn't instant die do a pistol or so. (The 7.92 MG is about 8 - 10mm at 100m) Solution is, increase 20mm HE to +-6mm. that would do the trick. IIRC, the brittish hispano 20mm HE did 6mm @0°@100m Germany didn't have any penetration charts under 75mm HE. Out of my head, the 88mm HE did 35mm @500m. 16. out of my head. panther glacis is 80mm@55° (0°=vertical). equals about 180mm vertical protection. Taking into account TD, yes, a panther glacis will deflect a 122mm shot from range. The 122mm gun, was also very low rof, due to 2 part ammo. The russion 100mm was far better. Mind that I'm not talking about spalling or cracking of armour. (donno if that's modelled)
  17. seems to be a bug. normal nades or small arms fire won't hurt a tank.
  18. It all depends on where the shells hit and at what angle. the Panther glacis can deflect 122mm rounds. There is an error in the Jagd tiger reload. it reloads to slow, as in Real live, it had 2 loaders to load the seperate munition, and this keep up a high ROF.
  19. In the overview after or before a mission, what's those 1 to 4 boxes under a soldiers portrait? has it to do with experience, or how is this calculated? ex, difference between 1 and 3 boxes. (out of 4)
  20. Yesterday, I replayed the demo several times. I found a very good spot to do amushes on passing tanks. Sadly, my tank would shoot it, or taking very long time to do so. gun was loaded and rdy, but sometimes the Ai thinks it's need to change to APCR rounds, even when a target is moving is stopped and moving it's turret towards him. this often results in los of the own vehicle, while giving away a perfect shot, or even 2. or sometimes, with a clear view, it just waits and waits (and often get's destroyed). the barrel tracks the target, but it doesn't fire. (while recieving fire) is'nt there a way, to tell a tank to fire 'NOW' at a target? any good vehilce guides out there? is there an AIMED shot (med to long ranges) or a quick 'SNAP' shot? (for short ranges?)
  21. As long as the panther commander lives, the tank will be able to spot 360°, using the periscope in the commanders cupola. so if you guy comes at the tank from the rear in the open, he is very likely to be spotted. try some bushes, helps a lot
  22. thanks for the response. Do you know which file you can adjust the ROF? thnx!
  23. Hi, Quick questions, I noticed the Jagdtiger has a very slow ROF. Normally this isn't so, as the Jagdtiger had 6 crew, one extra loader for loading the 2 part 128mm ammo. If you read Spielbergs' books about these vehicles, he explains in detail how it was done, and how to achieve a quicker reloading. (about the same as the 88/L71) Ingame, it only has 5 crew and 3rounds/minute, which is far to slow imho. can this be changed in a mod to 6 crews and 6/min or so? in which file can this be changed? thnx Is it possible to repair tracks ingame? It was done alot in the field and even under fire. (the book: Panzer-aces describes numerous occasions.) It of course depended on how damaged it was.
