  1. You can blank that part out only by adding "empty" .bmps to those last 9 files.

What I would do is look at the .bmp's in the mod and pick the one that's least intrusive (usually the last one) and make that one the last 9 instead.

Or you could look for other mods and combine them, that's what I did.

  2. Maybe the People's Free State of Scotland could claim a wee bit of this thread as it's own meeting place? Given you Scandie types came over here years back on yer summer cruise trips we mostly likely have something in common. Like DNA?! ;)

Well, I was nearly made an "honorary scotsman" by some scots at the Roskilde Festival once... until they found out I didn't like whiskey :/

But other than that I got it all, even the accent when speaking english (when I want to)

  3. Good point, i downloaded the pack last night, not much time to play but activation was not a problem just have the instructions to hand!!

I can wait to get the new Churchills into action, I like playing as the Brits and they need some extra firepower.

PS Except for the crab that I think i will leave on the beach!!

I would really like to see what happens if a Crab drives over an enemy infantry unit.

I suspect that nothing will happen, but I'd still like to see it :)

EDIT: In-game I mean... I would NOT like to see that happen in real life :(

  4. As a topic starter , I want kindly to warn you, this forum is not a general discussion forum and this topic is not opening for a Swedish meeting area.

Please continue from general discussion forum or on your personal accounts

    Thanks for anticipation

    Regards

Well, since it's been explained to you repeatedly why the CMRT patch is delayed and you just refuse to aknowledge that, I'd say this whole thread has served its purpose and could now very well serve as a swedish meeting area :)

  5. "we need more pics from the veh pack"

Wouldn't people prefer less pics and more scenarios featuring the pack vehicles that we can actually play? Am surprised that folks seem more keen on watching other people's AAR videos and pics than playing.

Well, they're either still making up their minds as to buying it or not, or they can't download it like me...

Scenarios won't do you any good then.

  6. And we are told Sweden is such a nice civilised country with a working social model...

In Britain you aren't a real village until you have your Chinese Takeaway. In order as villages go up in size you get:

Church (usually sharing a priest with 3 or so others)

Pub (maybe - Chinese may come first!)

Chinese (serving Fish and chips if only takeaway in the village)

    Fish and Chips

    2nd Chinese

Indian restaurant and takeaway (strange that, you need to be a big town to have a Chinese restaurant, the first 3 or 4 Chinese will be takeaway only but the first Indian will be a restaurant that does takeaway)

    A kebab joint

2nd Chippy (or maybe 2nd Indian)

Once you have about 3 Chinese, 2 Indians, a Kebab place and 2 Chippies, then you will get a Pizza place. About the same time you may get a burger joint but one of the others will do burgers (unless a McD within 5 miles!)

Never met anywhere with more pizza than Chinese!

Well it's pretty much dependant on the immigration I think.

In sweden we had alot of immigrants from the former Yugoslav country that were brought here as labour immigration in the 70's.

They were the ones that started up the pizzeria boom.

Before that, there had been a few italian run pizzerias in sweden but they never caught on.

But in just a few years there suddenly were pizzerias in every town it seems.

I'm betting it was the same kind of thing with the chinese takeouts in britain.

    But how's the pizza?

    It's 'meh' basically.

It's ok for a sunday when you're hung over.

But for the really good pizzas, you go to Milas in Furulund (my old town).

And if you really want to splash out and get a real culinary treat, you'll go to Höör (in the center of skåne, so a good 45 minutes away from where I live) and buy a pizza at Höörs Restaurang & Pizzeria.

They make the best pizzas I've ever tasted.

And I've had my fair share :)

  7. What do you do for a living then Oddball if I may ask? Burning down pizzerias for the competition? ;)

Oh I wish! I'd be walking around with rolled up wads of cash like those guys do if that was the case :)

No, I work at a school as a substitute. Mostly with the pre-school kids ages 5-6 but also at the after-school type institutions but not as a teacher since I'm not a trained teacher.

  8. All this arguing about the pack seems to be happening in a vacuum. Has anyone here actually played the game using the new vehicles yet? How can you have an opinion if you haven't played the game with the new vehicles yet? I just did a QB using Hotchkiss chassis SP guns in bocage country to fight off a US advance and had great fun doing it. :)

Still trying to download the damned thing :(

On my fourth download attempt now.

Slow-slow-slow downloads combined with "server error" messages at around 0.8-1.0 GB downloaded is really wearing down my patience.

Maby a torrent file would be nice?

It's not like you can use the file without the license code anyway.

EDIT: didn't work this time either.

    **** it, I'm off to bed... :(

  9. If your going by that logic then the base CMBN game would cost well over $200 . I counted 131 vehicles and heavy weapon alone. Once you add in all the infantry units for each nationality you'd be broke!

Look, Steve summed up the real reasons behind the cost (posted earlier in this thread). Do yourself a favor and read his explanations and then decide if $20 is worth it for you. You'll never have such a forward explanation of things and candid honesty from any other developing team out there.

Thanks, I read that and it sounds like a perfectly reasonable explanation to me.

And 20 bucks is worth it for me.

  10. Several??? You must have price controls in Sweden. Around here, I am lucky if I can get two small pizzas for $20.

    :(

    Michael

Well, let's just say I lived in a tiny tiny village with 4000 inhabitants, and 3 pizzerias...

And that's pretty much the picture in most of sweden. Every village has at least 1 pizzeria.

The village I live in now has 9000 inhabitants and 5 pizzerias, 1 chinese food, 1 thai food, 3 "burger joints" and 2 inns...

So yeah... pizza can be real cheap here :)

Can be expensive too though, but that's up to you if you want quality or quantity.

EDIT: and as an interesting sidenote, I could add that 1 of the pizzerias in Furulund (old village) burned down under mysterious circumstances and 1 pizzeria in Kävlinge (current village) burned down too.

Both opened by former chefs from the largest chain of pizzerias here (not really a chain, but owned by the same family and they switch owners every 2 years because it lets them get away with not paying taxes or something... and that same family is heavily involved in drugs in Malmö and my friend was even stabbed by one of them and is still after 10 years under death threat and can't go to Malmö)

  11. Or maybe this game a lower price. ;)

Sure, and you could pirate it for free, but that doesn't mean you're right.

It's not worth the money for you. Fine.

    Don't buy it.

But don't come complaining about the price because the price isn't unexpected and certainly isn't unreasonable considering the effort put into it (almost every unit is a 100% new model and there's even a new mechanic involved)

Sorry but I don't think is it fair, a brand new module costs 35$, this pack 20$.

A potential customer still don't know which kind of bug fixes have been included and the new anti-piracy protection is an annoyance.

Moreover we are still waiting the RT patch.

Surely you can say it was worth every penny spent, but not that it is fair :)

Speaking in Battlefront games terms of course.

    Let's see here...

Update to 3.0 with no new units = 10$

Vehicles patch with 20+ new units = 20$

Module with maby 30+ new units and some scenarios = 35$

    Base game = 55$

Seems like a fair deal to me.

As for "a potential customer", well sure... but then there's my buddy who is also a "potential customer" if they ever decide to start selling the entire bundle for 5$...

Doesn't mean they should lower the price to that just to "get that one customer" that won't pay the full price.

And the CMRT patch has nothing to do with this discussion at all.

  12. A fix to the unsynch problem in tcp turn based lan after loading a save would make two player join the fun again. As have been said earlier; After the load is complete the host computer has its turn already starting to countdown, while the opponent can issue orders for the same turn. The desynch usually starts after 1-2 turns and always happens to the host (example; host 50:45 opponent 51:00). No difference in RT when using save..

I'm sorry for going off topic here, but HOLY FRAK, you're from Malmö???

I'm from Kävlinge, not far at all from Malmö!

I've only seen swedes on these forums that are from Göteborg or Stockholm (or in the middle of nowhere in the northern wastes), but never one from this close to home :)

  13. I don't get why this is so hard for some people to understand...

The patch isn't released yet because they haven't fixed the "can't enter buildings" bug.

And they don't want to release an interim patch before that is fixed (for whatever reason).

So why would they still release pay-content stuff like 3.0 for the old games and the vehicles pack?

    Because they can, that's why.

    It's done, it works.

Should they withold those releases just because they aren't ready with the CMRT patch?

That makes no sense at all.

They were supposed to have released all kinds of content by now, so of course there is preassure to release SOMETHING for now, and since those things were ready, that's what gets released.

Meanwhile, they keep working on the CMRT patch so they can get that out and start focusing on more profitable releases like CMBS and modules for CMRT and CMFI.

Anyone who thinks they are witholding the CMRT patch on purpose is a paranoid idiot to be honest.

It makes no economic sense to withold it in any way.

In fact, it would make alot more sense to release it without the buildings bug fixed and move on to modules and new games, but that's not the way BFC does things.

  14. very funny, but for $ 20 I might have a new game - with the packs are interested in me only a few vehicles - can I pay one dollar per vehicle;)

And for 20 bucks I could get several tasty pizzas.

It's all about what you want more.

If you want another game (a cheap one tho) instead of these vehicles, then by all means, buy another game.

But for the amount of content, I think it's worth 20 bucks.

Someone calculated that it was 79 cents per unit, and that certainly seems fair.

  15. Well, "armour only" doesn't actually only pick tanks.

It only means it only picks from the "armoured" section of the forces.

And in the russian OOB that includes alot of "ride along" type infantry.

Better off picking the units yourself.

You can always pick "suggested" and let the AI pick the forces, then just remove the infantry and fill it up with more tanks.

  16. Maybe not the same thing but I was really surprised in a recent PBEM game where my 57mm AT gun killed a Tiger approaching almost straight ahead. Distance was maybe 300m.

    Eeeh...

Read up a bit son :)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/57_mm_anti-tank_gun_M1943_(ZiS-2)

    Cliffnotes: muzzle velocity: 1000+m/s

Armour penetration: @300m: 103mm (109mm with APCBC and 168 with APCR)

Basically something a tiger should stay far, far, far away from.
