1. Ah, you forgot some very good books written by a German Heer field reporter, Franz Kurowski: "Infantry Aces" and "Panzer Aces" - true accounts of German soldier heroism and sacrifice on the battlefield. Both excellent books and finally available in paperback in the US, published by Ballentine. Also, Ballentine will be releasing "Panzer Aces II" and "Luftwaffe Aces" soon. I mention these books in this thread because most of the stories are centered on the Eastern Front.
 2. Since I was the one of the primary sound editors for SP:WAW, I can safely say that there has been no copyright infringement by Wacky. It would have been nice to have been asked first, as a courtesy, but of course I have been out of the loop for some time now. Very few of the sounds in SP:WAW had a copyright notice on them, and the only ones that did were the ones that I had to create myself...
 3. Hello Matt....and everyone else for that matter. It's been a while since I've been around these parts (a messy divorce does that to you sometimes) . Anyways, interesting thread, right up my alley. Matt, if there is a particular weapon/sound effect that you are needing, I have an extensive library of sound fx, all you have to do is ask, and if I don't have it, I can make it. As a side note, to those who use my sound mod for CMBO, I will be releasing an 'Ultimate CMBO Sound Mod' soon. I've been tweaking it for the past couple of months and it should be ready soon. I will create an .MP3 example in the next day or so for those that would like to hear it before they download it. I WILL NOT release the sounds as MP3's though. The algorithm is waaaayyyyy too lossy for my taste. Instead, I will archive it as an .ACE. It will shave off about 10 MB over a .ZIP archive.
 4. Take a listen to these two for the 88mm guns in CM. 88L/90 Gun 88LL Gun

 6. Hi all. I have converted the original snow roads to high resolution. All of the pink spots are cleaned up and the roads look okay in-game. Now, I'm not an artist and the way that I envision the final modification is to have 2 muddy tracks in the roadway. If anyone is interested in modding them to add muddy tracks for me, send mail to jon165@swbell.net and I will send the file your way. Thanks...
 7.
quote:
Originally posted by Capt. Vance Astrovich: The sounds in CM are quite amazing, but I have considered the possibility of switching some of the sounds in CM for those in Steel Panthers: WaW. Some of those sounds are even cooler. I was wondering therefore if there is a resource guide somewheres which lists the .wav file #s of the sounds and what each sound is.

Thank you. I did a lot of the sounds for SP:WAW. I am emailing you a copy of the sound map for CM now...
 8. I bought the hardcover edition from the Military Book Club a few months back.
 9.
quote:
Originally posted by Scipio: Got it - but as I understand, I can only record the 'normal' soundoutput with it. I thought on something more radical. 17.
quote:
Originally posted by PawBroon: Ok it's a bit stoopid here but how can I link the batch textures swapping with the launch of CM?

Just create a batch file that calls the batch file to swap textures followed by the combat mission.exe. You have to use the CALL keyword so that control is returned to the originating batch file. @echo off cd\games\combat~1 call txturswp.bat combat~1.exe The above would work if you had both the texture swapping batch file and combat mission located at c:\games\combat mission. ------------------ Jon Johnson Audio/Video Productions Matrix Games
