One of the good things to come of this, IMO, is that it makes people who worry about such things being "evil" look ridiculous.

When Adam was a cowboy.
Or even this far back - which was a late addition & you can probably search earlier with positive results - just check the number of posters with status = "Banned"......

It's to show here after a rerun of BoB that is up to episode 7 tonight.....

B+ max - there's a 3rd possibility that hell is expanding at exactly the rate it needs to to maintain it's current characteristics.
Given the proximate evidence as to which of the 3 was happening the conclusion seems correct, hence a good mark....but not a brilliant one.
The education system is obviously hoing to hell in a handbag (evidence it is getting smaller?) if this got an A!

phd = piled higher (and) deeper.
Academia is all about knowing more and more about lessand less until, at the apex, you know absolutely everything about nothing at all......few reach such heights, but it does not surprise me that Aff is aspiring to them

There have been pasty poms since long before there were any guidelines on exposure to the sun!

In how many throws?

Wouldn't the Soviets been likely to have achieved 1 or more of those??

i think you slightly mixed things up there; the "mask breaker"(literaly translated from maskenbrecher) was the bluecross/blaukreuz. it was used befor or in conjunction with lung agents. it was no gas but ultra fine particles which passed through the particle filter of the masks of that time.
I know that diphenylchloroarsineis not a gas, but it is normally lumped in with them.
I don't know what yuo think I was mistaken about - diphenylchloroarsine was not the only blue cross agent, and one of its replacements was diphenylaminechloroarsine, dispersed as an aerosol and also known as Adamsite. It was also used as a riot control agent by the USA in the 1920's & early 30's.
-
Dunno if this is also relevant, but some gases picked up names based on German shell markings.
Mustard gas had a yellow cross on the shells,
diphenylchloroarsine - Adamsite - had a blue cross, as did it's replacement diphenylcyonoarsine. A less powerful replacement for these was ethyldichloroarsine which had both gold and blue cross.
These were all temporary irritants (as far as I can tell)
chloropircin had a green cross and "green cross" was used a descriptor for other gasses that were primarily lung injuriants - chlorine, phosgene, diphosgene, and chloropicrin. they were considered "very harmful"

I wasn't a copy - but the plot was remarkably similar - "white guy" (ie technologically superior culture) comes to the natives, lives with them, identifys with them, takes their side against other white guys with nefarious intent.
Avatar has is a happy ending.

FWIW (and sidetracking a bit...) the 17 pdr in the Firefly, Archer & Chariot was the same length as the AT gun - it was the "77mm" in the Comet that was a bit shorter. Its ammo was 17pdr projectiles (incl APDS) fitted to the cartridge for the 3" AA gun.
According to this site, 20% of Comet ammo was APDS - a much higher % than for the 17 pder - that may be the source of the "shorter gun requires APDS" info earlier?
WW2 APDS accuracy was nothing to do with gun length (well not specifically....) - it was because they didn't fully understand the effects of seperating sabots yet - they upset the flight of the penetrator, resulting in lower accuracy.

Everything is wrong with the idea. People have been sentenced to years of imprisonment for lesser invasions of privacy.
Why is there such an easily exploitable built in feature like this in the first place ? AFAIK the unauthorized webcam take over is among the easiest to accomplish (right up there with the CD/DVD-station open/close gag).
The problem IMO is why the school board would need to monitor for student behaviour ? General security cameras in hallways are sort of OK but this kind of monitoring is control freakishly sick to the core.
If you condone this you can not complain when the thought police comes to take you away.
Don't be silly - remote access is used worldwide every day to recover stolen laptops and other electronic devices, and has been for a couple of years now - THAT is the idea that there is nothing wrong with, and was the stated purpose of the software on these machines.
-
That's probably what it means, but can you give the context?
-
These remote camera systems have been used to catch ppl before - I have vague memories of a news report....ah yes...here we go..(not quite a camera....)....here's another...and even Mac's do it
IMO there's nothing wrong with the idea....but they should have told the kids/parents that it was on board, let them setup the passwords, etc., and perhaps kept a secure file of them at school in case they would be needed - with 1800 laptops given away it's a sure bet you are going to make use of that every year at least!!

Old, old, old......but still funny

Long live Zulu time!
Especially Zulu dawn.

I guess we just have to assume that you "down under" guys get everything backwards.
I'm glad to have bought some meaning to your otherwise insipid and tedious existance

Aff I think you missed something in Michael's post:
Why would an Australian officer be on loan to the RAN?He's needling you for mis-typing that Aus officers were on loan to the RN, not the RAN.

Shows how naive and prudish you really are. For many Old Etonians, being partially suffocated by a marine mammal is the ultimate turn on.
Thanks for the update - I am sure you know your stuff in this matter.
But I said that it is illegal to use them.......not that they are not used.

I'm pretty sure animal welfare laws forbid using seals for auto asphyxiation.

And so - how does that stop him being a "British Homosexual auto asphyxiation perv"??

Tax assessors/inspectors?

US research into ramjets was sufficient to produce the J58 that powered the SR71 - it started flight as a "standard" turbojet, but gradually more and more of its thrust wa generated by the ramjet function - ie air bypassing the turbine engine core and going staight to the afterburner.
That was a pretty slick design for the 1950's

Hopefully they already grew stronger, since filming finished May 2008.
