PBEM vs AI
Cougar_DK replied to Cougar_DK's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Hmmm ok, how many sides is there in the campaign then? If more than two can it be played in PBEM? And I can only have AI to control non human sides in single player, hot-seat or tcpip. Is this correct? Cheers Mark -
Hi, Is it possible to play the campaign as Allied human players and the AI taking the Axis? Cheers Mark

Unofficial Poll - who uses the camera keys
Cougar_DK replied to Other Means's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Yeah, the camera is way to slow using the wasd buttons and for me is holding left/right mouse button down is to cumbersome. Why not give us a button on the keyboard like Alt, when holded the mouse moves the camera (Idea taken from another RTS) [ October 20, 2007, 11:48 PM: Message edited by: Cougar_DK ] -

Hi Madmatt and sorry for not posting my info this time. I have the soldiers back after setting the resolution to 1024x768 and the Alt-w toggles the soldiers on and off now....? See these pictures: My pc: CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ RAM: 2 GB GFX Card: Nvidia 8800 GTS 640 OC2 (163.44 Beta drivers) OS: Windows XP SP2 DirectX: 9.0c I have installed the AMD driver and the MS fix. My dxdiag info: DxDiag.txt This worked fine in 1.02 and there have been no changes driver wise since I last played CMSF 1.02...

Sounds great, looking forward to try it out tomorrow.

Steve, could it be possible to make a debug version of the exe file that creates a text file or the like with useful info to you guys? I.e. you count the frames, versus the number of polygons etc. I do this as a professional developer when the debug is pretty nasty, but again, I'm not developing games.

Optimum System Configuration?
Cougar_DK replied to Sabot6's topic in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
Right now CMSF runs way better on my old gaming rig, an AMD XP 2800 with 768mb of ram. A Ati 9800 Pro 256 with Creative X-Fi sound Card and running XP Pro SP2. My newer pc is an AMD XP 64 4400+ Dual Core with 2gb of Ram. A Nvidia 8800 GTS 640 OC2 and its also running XP Pro SP2. So my bet is not to buy a new pc for CMSF, but for general gaming. -
Hi, I posted my findings with the "Allah's Fist" scenario some time ago, but tried it with the 163.44 Beta drivers released for BioShock. My pc: CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ RAM: 2 GB GFX Card: Nvidia 8800 GTS 640 OC2 OS: Windows XP SP2 DirectX: 9.0c I have installed the AMD driver and the MS fix. My dxdiag info: DxDiag.txt Here is my findings in "Allah's fist", starting the mission, looking at the burning wrecks: Vertical Sync: OFF AntiAlias/Multisample: OFF High Priority Process: ON 1680x1050 (LCD Screen native resolution): 3D Model Quality / 3D Texture Quality / FPS Fastest Fastest 8 Balanced Balanced 8 Best Best 6 1024x768: 3D Model Quality / 3D Texture Quality / FPS Fastest Fastest 9 Balanced Balanced 9 Best Best 8 And this has NOTHING to do with FRAPS running. Its right that FRAPS eats some resources when you have an older pc, like my old AMD XP 2800. The mouse feels sluggish and the camera lags with or without FRAPS running when looking at those burning wrecks. (My old post about Allah's Fist: Link)
