1. Its okay, really. Myself I'm more the C3P kinda guy. Soo, how are things going in the road transport department?
2. only problem being that there are no unbuttoned tank commanders, you'll havbe to make them abandon ship to let them have a firsthand peek outside. at least so far, who knows what magic BTS will put to work on ToW.
3. No. Its a third-party RTS game developed by a russian company, BTS / Battlefront is only the distributor. For the next CM title you need to go to this board for CMSF.
4. ToW is not a tank sim. You might be TankCommander, but when playing ToW you're not.
5. I'ld give battlefront 6 more months of time for development if they get it done before xmas...
6. Well you can play it xmas 2007+. And no, Im not being sarcastic, I mean it.
7. This has some sort of sad, disheartened, frustrated tone to it. Whatever the problems are, dont lose the faith Hunter! Wishing you all the best for your project M.Hofbauer
8. No it doesnt. But really it depends on what you expect from them.
9. Thanks CoolColJ !! In mean it ! However, I disagree here. So far it sounds like nothing but a caricature. No wonder BTS had been so testy. And here I was complaining about an "FT-17" with 36 instead of 32 track links... Hope they take their time to fix this thing. That is, if all this can be fixed. - Keeping the fingers crossed. again thanks regards, M. Hofbauer p.s.: whats this about a Grant alongside a Chaffee ? Is this part of the overall joke ?!?
10. Thanks for sharing with us Daimyo! I am sure everybody here feels like that when i say your reports are very much appreciated! Keep it coming!
11. This game's for you. But unfortunately, and I'm pretty sure here, there won't be "Porche King Tigers" nor "Tiger 1's".
12. Oh wooey, the one with the really BFG? or no, wait, that was the IS-2, wasnt it?
13. I agree wholeheartedly. except for one correction. It should read "Lonely King Tiger" Russian tanks at bay shooters.
14. Oh, that is entirely feasible if the plane targetted an AA piece. I think I have even read accounts of low-flying fighters coming down within an AA emplacement (Flak Battery), shot down by any of the numerous 2cm AA protecting the 8.8. Not exactly the concrete type of occurence you probably have in mind, I agree. Not sure but was there something about japanese Kamikaze pilots applying their method to combating ground troops? Im not sure, dont clearly recall. You also need to keep in mind that you have a point about RealLife, but in ToW just like CMBO, CMBB WW II occurencesd are being inflated. I mean, how often did IS-2s take on "King Tigers" ( ) in real life? And guess how often this happened, the world over on computer monitors in CMBB so far? Now, when Dorosh's typhoon makes Reichenberg's house levitate over the battlefield, and ajj 1912's Sherman 50cal AA gun shoots it down, does it land on Meyer44's vehicle or on the evil witch of the west? or of the east, should I rather say? And will Dorothy be able to enter the house to recrew it? Will ToW even have accurate maps of Kansas? That, gentlemen, is the real question, and I would really like to know the answer. Er, answers. Or somefink.
15. Reif... überreif.... "Sonnengereift", würde Onkel_DittMeyer1945 sagen.
16. My guess is it's ToW's generic way of saying the tank is kaputt. Like the slanted turret in CMBB.
17. first, Thanks for reminding me never ever to get near any SuddenStrike or similar boards now, if Battlefront / Steve caught just the least of tidbits of the german conversation here he will surely worry less about our behavior on the BTS/BF.C boards here now, that in itself would not worry me, unless it happens all the time. It is plausible to have a tank shot up quite a bit yet still working, it depends on where it/what gets hit. If anything, imminent immediately obvious knock-outs are overrepresented in wargames IMO and people therefore have been conditioned to a false expectation in that regard. In reality tanks would continue to shoot up an enemy tank because they were a) unsure whether it has been ko'ed already and indeed a single hit even if it penetrated didnt inevitably mean the tank was completely destroyed/harmless. Notice how in CM this is shown by usually the crew abandoning the tank instead of showing catastrophic destructions. Also, the abandoning-clock ticking down is a good way of simulating that the enemy doesnt know yet that the tank is out of action even tho it is. Maybe this "seven shots before all crew members have left the tank" is a simulation of this abandonment-clock.... Even tho seven 76.2mm hits does seem a bit much for a Pz II, if this KV vs PZ II thing is an isolated incident I can live with it from a realism POV. I do concede tho that as a *player* it would have me fuming and crying foul that however has me worried a bit... ?!?
18. Em, the webbing is of the correct type here, though, so that is most definitely not the problem. Have you seen the images? If you're still pouting about the 34 track links vs. 36, it is most definitely unbecoming.
19. You just want to hear it, dont you? ok here goes: "we will consider that for an add-on." ...namely the "ToW: Catalaunian Fields" getica mod [ October 23, 2006, 04:58 PM: Message edited by: M Hofbauer ]
20. To paraphrase Mr. Dorosh, a British soldier shown by the game with having the wrong webbing, wearing his helmet over his arse or shown in a German uniform or is still a British soldier.
21. now, I am not sure what his point is, but I'll give it a try: his main and only crime was not living by the rules. just like in real life, breaking the rules gets you thrown in jail. well, here it kinda gets you thrown out. and just like in reality, things arent "fair". you might get away with it, or you might get the book thrown at you for a minimal offense. you probably havent been to too many then. well, to be fair, you have to admit it is his ball. wouldnt *you* want to have a say in who gets to play with your ball? I sure would. I personally found it to be a bad choice but then again it is not my ball so I dont get to decide who plays with it, or under which rules the ball-owner decides who gets to play. actually, you'ld be surprised that those were only isolated cases and in total not too many. at least as far as I can tell. not sure, but I think there's a fair chance that Sabot might still buy it. I think you have a skewed perception as to the relationship between 1C and BTS/BF.COM. It's not like one is the daddy of the other. Or sumfink. now, I'm a bit lost here. Dorosh is not part of the moderation of this board, and no representative for BTS/BF.COM. And I would be totally mistaken about him if M. D. isnt his real name. He is not impersonating anyone, and never claimed to be some sort of hero. on to the rest of your post....I'll leave your game worries largely aside for a moment because I still cant really recognize what your point is. It has always been the stance of BTS that "its done when its done". Ok. Look at me. Im kinda happy. --> Because I see the delay as a sign that there is some work going on behind the scenes. Maybe the beta testers found something that needs to be changed. Maybe BTS themselves realized there is need for correction. Waiting is a good thing. It means things get rectified that otherwise would plague the game when we have it. would you rather have a rushed yet faulty game, or wait a bit and receive a game that's decent even without five patches to just get it halfway ruinning and right ?  Look, I am not the last syccophant to call out something thats wrong with the game. There are things about ToW that have me worried. Small things and big overall picture things. I think its better the longer it takes for the game to be finished - it is a sign that the game is worked on, that it has problems that are being rectified. The longer it takes, the better the game will eventually be. But - I really dont understand what your point in your above diatribe is, what you want this game to be, and whether you like or dislike the game, or this board, for that matter. -M.H. 22. If the looks of the tracks are part of the characteristic look of a vehicle just like turrets or wheels for other vehicles, then yes, that is comparable.
23. I invite you to switch the name files for russian and american soldiers. If you dont - ask yourself why you do not.
