  1. When you put in the CMBB Mac CD, you see a window appear with the three installers: one each for English, German and French. Normally you just double-click one and the computer takes it from there. Behind the scenes, these installers run OTHER installers, in a sort of chain. You can see these other installers by scrolling down in the window mentioned above. (We did it this way so that the installers could share data). They're called: Data2H, Data2C, Data3, Data4. "2H" has the BMPs for English installs(e.g. swastikas), while "2C" has the European version ones. #3 has the remaining BMPs and all sounds. #4 has OpenPlay. So if it says OpenPlay didn't install, just manually run the Data4 installer. The CMAK disc is laid out a little differently though. Madmatt
  2. Since the release of CMAK (and even before) people have asked if we were going to make a new Strategy Guide or similar offering in support of it. Well, today we are proud to announce the answer to that question. The CMAK Companion: The Battery Commander, his Batman and a Cook, is a new 450 page book published by Battlefront.com. It is comprised of over 150 first person accounts of action in the Med. Theater and is the perfect resource for students of history, gamers, scenario designers and the occasional uber-Grog. To help showcase the awesome repository this book represents, we asked some of the CM Communities best scenario designers to read the book and make up scenarios using what they read. The results are 12 brand new exclusive CMAK scenarios which you can download right now from the new CMAK Companion webpage (link below). This softcover book is priced at an attractive $20 but we are also offering a new special bundle which combines the CMAK Companion Book and a copy of CMAK the game for only $50. <P align="left">Click <u>HERE</u> for more info including sample chapters from the book and to gain access to the new downloadable scenarios!</font> Madmatt [ March 29, 2004, 03:04 PM: Message edited by: Moon ]

  5. Sure, the fancy smancy tank and grass mods are nice and all but its the little things that sometimes have the biggest impact. Today, CMHQ offers up a new barbed wire mod and a new pontoon style assualt boat. Check 'um out! CMHQ's New Mod List Madmatt [ March 09, 2004, 03:15 PM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  6. Yes, this issue is systemic to the Catalyst drivers (not the card itself) and is well documented (along with a downloadable fix) in the online troubleshooting guide. Madmatt
  7. You know what? Save your money as we don't need or want customers like you! You admit theft of the game and that makes you a common criminal. You are hereby banned from participating from these forums and I wish you well in your little pathetic convoluted pirate life. Madmatt
  8. They have the price down as $50 but in reality its only $35 (plus S/H). Madmatt
  9. Hmmm, it was supposed to have been a replacement French sample, somehow a Finnish one got in instead it seems. Madmatt
  10. If you were doing it right you would actually call it "harakiri" (bowls or abdomen cut) or its more formal and correct term "seppuku" meaning to 'cut the stomach or abdomen'. Madmatt
  11. Okay, best to lock this one up before it gets out of hand. Just a word of warning, we tend to have a dim view on people that post purely to insult the post and effort of others. Thats our job... Madmatt
  12. Well, most people READ before clicking a link but I will make a small change that allows the Mac download link from the Download page to point directly to the Mac page instead of that front page. Madmatt
  13. Quick update. Someone recently emailed me that read this thread and was looking for the new extension. I tried to email them back twice now (salmon, is the first part of their email name) but my emails are getting bounced for some reason. If you are reading this, please post a reply and I will followup with you here. Thanks! Madmatt
  14. ATI still hasnt released the drivers officially (at least they didnt tell us if they did) but I can send you the beta version of the driver that we tested this with which should also work for you. Just email me if you want to try them out. Madmatt
  15. Bishops and Crusaders's and Shermans oh my! CMHQ is happy to release a new batch of CMAK mods care of none other than Gordon Molek himself. Today's offerings include some new Sherman II, and III's, a M-10 Tank Destroyer, Crusader MK II, A three toned camo Grant and Bishop, plus some new dirty track modes for both Italy and North Africa. Enjoy! Find them all (and more) right here: http://www.combatmission.com/ [ February 09, 2004, 02:27 PM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  16. Ah yes, that would be the CDV version of CMAK. Unbeknowst to us, they went with a 2 disc install for CMAK instead of a 1 disc version like we used. Although they still put all the game data on a single disc. Go figure... Madmatt
  17. It's reasonable for every one to have a specific feature or enhancement (call it pet peeve if you will) about something in one game which they wished was in another. We understand that, and if granted unlimited money, time and resources to do whatever we wanted there would be no debate on this matter. Every game would simply be patched to encorporate all the new features of the latest, in this case CMAK. Sadly, this is the real world, and we do have limitations of time, resources, marketing, advertisement, payroll, operating costs and all the other little *issues* that seem to keep life from getting too boring. As it has been said before, our current short term focus is with CMAK (as seen with the latest patch) and our long term strategic focus is fixed on the new CMX2 engine. The current CM engine, a milestone in wargaming to be sure, is clunkly, overly complicated incredibly time consuming to work with and amazingly resistent to change. Even the smallest additions in CMAK took months to implement and that is time that we currently don't have to retrofit our past games. Game design is an evolutionary process and while I totally understand peoples wish for the past to be reincarnated into the present, its simply not that easy. One misconception I see a lot is that people like to focus on something specific in the game and consider it as a stand alone *feature* that can be ripped out of one or simply *inserted* into another. Again, it is not that easy espically considering the core level changes between each game. The easiest way to say this as that CMBO, CMBB and CMAK are all three DIFFERENT games and its much easier to PLAN to include something to a new code base than to retrofit old code to accomodate those same improvements. So, lets put a close to this issue for the time being. As it stands right now, we are not planning to upgrade either CMBO or CMBB to CMAK's code level via new patches. We can't stress enough though how much the development of a new engine, CMX2, will render these types of discussions totally irrelevant. That's all for now. Madmatt

  19. All weapon teams have intergrated small arms now and have since CMBB, thats what you are seeing. Its a self defense capability and is not very powerful. Madmatt
  20. PC patch is a multilanguage one while there are three seperate patches for the Mac versions. They are otherwise the same though. Madmatt
  21. No, you have to have the CD in to play unless you wish to only be able to JOIN multiplayer TCP/IP games (can't host though). Madmatt
  22. I think he means the Radeon text issue when AA is enabled. A link to the file he mentioned is in the Troubleshooting guide. Madmatt
