  1. The process for a while has been to release a patch which contains a module's content and update the full game installers at the same time. That is actually what I did today. I released the patch and updated the full game installers to include it. Because we had the full game installer ready to roll we decided that rather than hold it off for a few days until we release the patch at the same time that we would release the full game installer that included Fire and Rubble content and release the patch a few days later. It was then decided to take another extra couple of days and fix anything that popped up in the FR release. And that is what became available today. If someone has the 2.02 version of the game installed they only need to add the 2.11 patch to be fully up to date. They do not need to have v2.10 installed.
  2. It did. Both urban infantry pathfinding and remaining in good cover are different than they were in the base CMRT game. EDIT: I didn't finish my thought..... If you followed the Beta AAR, particularly my side, you can see the "before" of what I just mentioned. My units would have behaved differently if we'd done the battle with the finished version.
  3. No offense taken. I'm glad to hear that you're digging the new content. It's been great working on them.
  4. No, you only have to install this on top of what you have installed now.
  5. Odd.....I just downloaded the Windows patch on the first tryin 6 minutes and 28 seconds. It may be a firewall or anti-virus program slowing things down. Or an unfortunate internet connection.
  6. I don't know. I would error on the side of caution. When were were testing the installers I asked everyone to remove their Game Files folder before reinstalling everything because we wanted to make sure that all of the QB maps installed. So, because they were "fresh" Game Files we wouldn't have been able to tell if something was overridden.....If you follow me.....
  7. Very possibly. I can't promise a v2.10 saved game file will open in v2.11
  8. Yeah, the Mac installer broke Friday......So, a new set of builds needed to be made. There was also a small thing that affected both versions (I can't remember what it was off hand) and the extra time allowed that to be cleaned up too.

  10. Yes, it will be in Process until the physical items are shipped. You should have gotten and email with the download link. If you don't see it check your spam folder..
  11. Of course it needs to be updated. A million things were going on Friday. That isn't really what anyone is questioning. There is a big difference between "hey guys. A heads up , the sales page should be updated" and "Does it take that much effort to change this? " I think that is what drew the attention of some people. But you do you, bro.
  12. I probably shouldn't have made it seem like something too mysterious. I thought that we'd be releasing a patch for Red Thunder yesterday. At the last minute there was a showstopper discovered, so it will be a few more days.
  13. The serial number they are referring to is your Battlefront activation key. When you enter your Battlefront key in that field it will generate a Steam key. And that is what you use to get the Steam version. However, DO NOT do this now. They are not yet fully set up for it. When they announce that Cold War is available on Steam is when you should use your Battlefront key to get your Steam key. I have no idea what happens if you try it now. It probably just gives a message saying invalid key or somefink....Whatever it does I would recommend staying away from it until it's ready.
  14. When you open your ticket include a screenshot of what you're seeing. From what you've said it sounds like a Microsoft issue and not one with the game. The game will not generate anything like that.
  15. The initial release was intended to be a "regular" Battlefront release. And the first patch will be as well. The PBEM++ will then get bolted on to the Battlefront version after that. That is when everyone who wants to experiment with the new system will be able to participate. We wanted to have a fully functional "normal" version available for anyone who doesn't want to participate. The plan is to have it done for a June Steam release. That said, once it is completed it will become the version of Cold War. Any patches/support going forward will contain PBEM++.....forever. Thanks to the guidance of @Ultradave and @benpark I have dipped my toes into PBEM++ with other Steam games. I think anyone not familiar with the system will be pleased. One other point, at this time I have no idea what affect it will have on existing Cold War PBEM games. Once it's on I can't promise that you'll be able to continue a battle started in the current system.
  16. Yeah, I was kinda surpised by that one. One person contacted me about it and said he was going to make it his new sig line. I don't think that he did though.
  17. And we've got a little more to do before naptime.
  18. Excellent question...And this answer will show some of my ignorance about Steam. All Battlefront keys, regardless of platform are sent to Slitherine. So, if you buy a Mac version of the game then you will be able to get a Steam key. But I thought the Steam version of the game was Windows only. Or are Steam games somehow multiplatform when run through Steam? I really don't know.
  19. Yes. A Battlefront purchase will also get you Steam access at no additional charge. Heck, I've already sent them the Battlefront keys to make this happen.
  20. No. Not related to Cold War. I would expect 1 Cold War patch before we start seeing patches that include PBEM++. We hope that everyone participates in testing the PBEM++ feature but we want to make sure that those that don't have a fully realized copy of Cold War before we do. What I was hoping to send out tonight will have to wait. It isn't ready for primetime yet. And, like I said, it isn't related to Cold War anyway.
  21. Somefink that probably needs a tiny bit more time and will very likely come out tomorrow.
  22. It's funny that you say that....There may be somefink. Heck, there may be somefink else this Friday too.
  23. No, it doesn't. But we're juggling a lot of balls here. All things in time. Making sure that everyone is up and running is a higher priority.
