SS is right...Peng is just being a fun loving guy. His biggest problem is that he is a cutrate hack and has distracted himself so much with his own taunting that he has been smoked on every field of battle that he has ever entered. Hang your head Peng.

Like you I got my new system a couple of months ago with CM as the prime motivator. i also have the TNT and it works great. I don't know much about the geforce but if is a lot more money it might be overkill. My thinking when I got my system is get the most tricked out system that is in your budget because if you cut a corner it will be outdated in 4 months instead of 6.

Just got married last June and I am fortunate that my wife not only understands my wargamming ways but has tried her hand at CM. Last night she VOLUNTEERED to give up the desktop to me for CM and use the laptop to write her 30 page paper for school. Doug and Rick last time I was single it I hated it so I know what you're talking about. So count me among those who don't envy the single life. And Doug I'll play ya some PBEM if you want.

I MUST have the full product....I was really saying you might not want to give too much away for nothing in the demo. I still haven't gotten tired of playing the demo and I've had it for two months.If the final version of the game came out today and it was just a cleaned up version of the demo it would be the best computer game I ever owned. My head will probably explode when I see the final version.

I am about to say something that will be very unpopular......I have found the current demo to be so replayable that if I was BTS when I released the gold demo I would include no new scenarios at all. The current 3 scenarios have fufilled the purpose of a demo. They have clearly shown everyone who has played it the depth and long lasting playability of this game. I am afraid for BTS that if they give to much that there will be a portion of people that will not feel the need to buy the full version if they get another couple of scenarios to play. The gold demo should be nothing more than a cleaned up version of the beta demo. Having said all that.....I preodered the game a while ago and am chomping at the bit for a new scenario or 2..it would make a lovely christmas present (I know this goes against everything I said before it but just because I see the logic in my initial statement doesn't mean I can't beg for a new scenario. I am a very selfish person.)

I did try to find the answer in old posts and read many of them. I didn't see an answer but in truth I didn't read them all (there are SSSSOOOO many). I have noticed a lot of new names on the board and figured I might not be alone in my problems. I think your advise about waiting for the gold demo is a good one. I'll just sit tight until the new demo is out. Thank you.

I have put this question out there a couple of times and seen no response. I have searched and read endless posts on the topic of PBEM. But I have yet to see an answer. I have had a ton of problems with playing PBEM. The biggest pain is I have to reboot my system almost every other email turn I play. I have been playing a game tonight via ICQ and I have had to reboot 8 times! And we are on turn 8! Can someone please reassure me that this is a known bug and has been fixed and tomorrow () when I get the gold demo it will all be fixed and fine. Thanks folks.

I've been having similar things happen to me. I will download the email and when I go to open it nothing happens at all. After some conversation with my opponant I resent my previous e-mail he replayed his turn and sent it back and it worked. Now even that is not working. My question is, I can live with this with the demo, but is BTS aware of these things and have they been fixed? I ran a search to find this thread and read about 6 others but didn't find an answer to this question. Thanks

I got off my 1st faust saturday night. I was getting creamed by one remaining american tank. I had to run up to 30m away before it shot it off. Blew the hell out of it though. It paved the way for my 1st german win in chance encounter after 3 tries. I am very happy that I had a hard time winning that game because Ireally felt like I had to work for it. Very satisfing.

Does anyone know if we'll be able to play a campaign via TCP/IP. I would imagine that it would be tough to design but it would be tres cool to play a continuing game against someone. Like "Red Barricades" in ASL.

Euro players don't get unlimited local calls.I never knew that. That must suck. One TCP/IP game must cost like 20 bucks to play. There were some folks on this board that I was gonna try to hook up with for some internet play...Here's an idea....Can BTS do something about the phone companies over there so that everyone in Europe can have free local calls ). After playing this demo I have come to believe they can do anything!

Just got done a 3 1/2 hour SP3 game with TCP/IP. For me it isn't a drag to devote that kind of time in one sitting. I have found I play MUCH better in TCP/IP and hotseat games than PBEM. It isn't because I am a high speed game player. I find for me I get more into the flow of a game when it is continuous instead of having to wait an hour or a day to play the next turn. It must just be the way I get into the groove of a game.

I was somewhat shocked today by the number of people who posted saying they didn't care at all about TCP/IP and that they preferred PBEM. I voted FOR immediate release but playing over the internet is what I am looking forward to the most. I play Steel Panthers 3 online with a friend 1 or 2 times a week and they are so much more gratifing than the SP1 games we play by e-mail. Nothing is quite as satisfing as out thinking someone. Especially when we have been playing games against each other since the original Squad Leader came out. We have a very good feel for each others tendencies. So I just wanted to get a feel of what percentage of folks out there ARE looking forward to taking out a piece of my butt in a TCP/IP game?

TCP/IP is THE most important part of this game to me.......but I can keep myself busy while I wait. SHIP IT
