  1. I really do wish I could give you guys info. I know how it feels to wait. Back when work began on I think the Marine Module I had a rapid deployment and when I would go on patrols sometimes my mind would wander thinking about if I had an Abrams would I area fire into that mosque or building because I would have setup my sniper team there in the game. You would think it would be a distraction and all but I actually think it made me hyper-aware. Sometimes at night I would also pray that I wouldnt lose my beta tester position being gone and all haha. But they were super cool about it.

But yes the powers that be are super busy and even though it doesnt reinvent the wheel, you are gonna love watching the wheel spin around. Hope soon they give you a real update. Sorry that the screenshot has been heavily redacted by trees. There really is something cool hiding behind those pines.

  2. Mr Emry's ya I have heard 20mil from actual fighting before and it's what I used. No one will ever know and 70 mil worldwide sure is possible. Crazy that back then the value of life seemed almost nil to some in power.

As for the game, I think losing 30% of my forces is outrageous simply because if I lost one on my team in real life, I couldnt sleep knowing my actions may or may not have had something to do with it. But we have moved a long way from the battle fields of WWII and Vietnam where it was more of an expected rate of casualties as opposed to now and the casualties are simply forbidden format. Dont get me wrong I would have hated serving under Patton and sure prefer the modern approach.

I think though if you look back to how they did things, troops dying paled in comparison with actually taking the objectives. So in CMBN, I think this still trumps winning or losing by a fair margin. I think it says a lot of how you play if you take very few casualties yet dont hold objectives.

  3. Proof of this?

There is no proof because this was never promised whatsoever. Steve stated if IIRC that they would look into this on future games. As for CMBN its not gonna magically appear. I think the person who said this just used an Obamaistic gaffe. (Words not written on the teleprompter)

  4. I once was in Germany and was talking to an American Colonel. He said he started in the Army as an AT Infantrymen. The system he operated was the M47 Dragon. Only reason I remember it was that he said the theory behind use was pray, pray it would fire, pray it hit, pray it actually damaged anything, pray people in different countries didnt hear it, and pray you can run fast enough not to get killed 10 seconds after use. He then said, we'd rather have just had "zooks". I remember it cause he said pray a lot haha.

To be fair the Bazooka weapon system was designed to defeat the PzIII and possibly PzIV's. The Germans and russians made leaps in armor design and the US really didnt have as much time to field and train, and equip soldiers back then as we do nowadays.

  5. I will buy trenches but will not bother much with foxholes or fortifications to be honest. We really had a hard time with trenches to be honest and at first they seemed rather out of place but I think they really add to the defenses. Sometimes I even look at them and see the level of detail and am quite pleased aesthetically. I think the artist did a fantastic job seeing as the terrain mesh cant be messed with much.

Foxholes are not only ugly but also may be one of the biggest pains in the ass when we were testing. I am at a loss as to what the suggestions should be to address it in future games, but it is what it is.

Fortifications are great as long as there are no tanks around. If there are tanks, I feel like most of the time its just an expensive target in QB's, and that the points can be better spent on other things.

  6. Well whatever the numbers, its far too low for as good of a product they put out, regardless of this being a niche game. But they arent starving and still have enough money to give a raise to me. Course if they sold nothing they still could afford my raise. Who says the economy is bad. Pffft

  7. Well this type of training is cheap and easy. Marching around with a tree gives a little teamwork training but mostly is so instructors can yell at your ass cause you were stupid enough to sign up to carry a tree around in fricken camo pants and gay haircuts.

Hand to hand combat is so said instructors can beat the **** out of you and avoid charges.

Bayonet training is so hopefully recruits they dont like or suck will impale themselves and they can get rid of them.

But if you look at it, shooting at stationary targets on the range really isnt any better than carrying a tree around. Any of you guys ever shoot at a guy that totally stood still and didnt move after he heard a shot?

  8. Can someone please list just one example of a similar sized game company that is producing these sort of high quality niche games and that is more responsive to, and taking better care of its customers than BFC...

At least then, posters here could say 'Co X does it like this, and it works great, so why can't BFC?"

Otherwise, everyone here sounds very naive re the issues and challenges involved in running a "micro" company and developing computer software.

Fanboi Mode= Off: Roxio, makers of Angry Birds takes care of their customers and I hate BFC's monopolistic dictatorial asinine ways to answer my self important coding suggestions and what direction I should take their company before they fail. Fanboi Mode= On

I think we should just collectively fire Moon. He's German, thats reason enough.
