You would be better off guessing the winning lottery numbers than trying to speculate on a release date of CWF. But if you do give me the winning lotto numbers before hand, I will pull a date out of the air and share my winnings with BFC. Then you will know exactly the same info now as you did before, but I will be a hell of a lot richer and BFC will have much better vacations.

I think you have made your point sufficiently. Most of us do not have a problem with the current incarnation of the floating icons. Just so you know this was kicked about behind the scenes when this engine was being worked on. I cant remember a single thread where anyone but you has brought up this issue. Not saying we cannot improve this in the future, but this is how it is and will stay, atleast through the next modules.

The guys who make these decisions have been doing this for 12 years, designed the engine from the ground up, and quite frankly know a lot more about this than you do. You posting screenshots from other games doesnt prove your point any better than from the first ranting post you made. You have made plenty of backhanded compliments and I suppose thats better than nothing but even you admitted it's not a game breaker.
One thing that does bother me is you keep saying we dont understand your point when the truth is we understand and some of us sympathize, but most, if not all, agree that it's just not one of those do or die type things that takes away from your "masterpiece". We get it but we just dont agree so stop with the madness already. It's all about style vs substance and there plenty of things that are far more pressing than this man.

I think you are 68 years too late. I mean even if you did get to play "real Tiger units", I think the Abrams would PWN your Tiger Battalion.

Well in the real world in my experience, buildings provide much more protection in the form of concealment than actually being able to give you magical invincibility. The tricky part is in order to hit the enemy you do have to expose yourself in windows, doorways and in rare cases, murder holes. This tends to not make holing up in a building for long periods of time to be a great idea. Modern warfare history has shown static defenses to be a not so good idea. Better than fighting w/o cover and even in game is safer.
Houses also tend to be places where heavier arms tend to focus fire. I cant even imagine taking up a position in a house and being hit by tank rounds. Seen it it real life and gotta say I am glad I wasnt on the other side.
As for the reference to Stalingrad, 2 Million people lost their lives there so I am thinking being in structures didnt turn out as good as you make it sound. And while ASL may have been a good game, I didnt realize they used physics based modeling. ijs.
As far as admitting the game needs work, well BFC is aware of that. It's the reason there's patches. If they ever do make it perfect I am guessing thats the last game they ever make.

The last thing I want is some big, fat, ugly icon obscuring my pretty Panthers and pixeltrupen. Just glad Lt Bull was not on the development team.
When CMSF was in beta it was hard finding a balance. I usually have the FI turned off anyway in WEGO as it is a distraction and ruins some of the immersion for me personally. RT no way you turn it off LOL.

Lt. Bull, if you are really having that much trouble, could you post a video of you playing the game, and solicit some feedback. I suspect if it's that hard to tell where your pixeltruppen are, that you might not be mentioning something about the way you play that would make all the difference.

5. Take a Valium

8. Run for President from the Republican party. I mean a guy named Newt is running, how hard could it be to beat someone named Newt?
9. Get a spot on Glee. You will be so famous and rich you wont ever care about playing CMBN again.
10. Blame Fox News
If you like none of these options, please oh please just turn off the icons forever. This is one of the least easy to fix things about the game and trust me they have tried. Its not that bad but hey no need to get worked up over this when all you really need to do it turn them off.

In another thread it was confirmed by Steve that they will not be in until the next module (Market Garden). Kind of a letdown, but in the long term it will be fine since people can still go back and make whatever scenarios they want.
Sorry you feel let down but there's still a lot coming with this module in terms of sexy new units.

I got stuck with the Candyland FPS game. Those Candy Canes do a lot of damage but I am sure you guys will say something isnt realistic.

I think in my testing for something I am doing I have an 88 in a trench, it seems they are a little more protected from tank fire. I cant recall any artillery falling on it though. I will pay closer attention but I usually like the results from the infantry defending and attacking them so I really havent thought if it as much of an issue to be honest.

I concur, you would expect better behavior from people representing the company. Capt's tone and last statements were uncalled for. Loose the attitude Capt.
First off, we dont represent the company. We are fans just like you. We get to play stuff and help in the development, that's it. We love the game and make many more suggestions and WAY more gripes behind the scenes than you do. And some of you had better hope to hell they never hire me to moderate this board because I would tolerate none of these negative comments. No other companies do, yet you guys have almost carte blanche here to do so and don't realize how good you have it.
Some of you claim you love the game and sit on a soap box telling BFC how they have screwed this game up because you dont like something about it. I would be willing to bet not one of you served in WWII and dont understand that what we put out is just an estimation of what variable results could happen in certain circumstances. Aint nothing perfect and since no one else CAN even make a game as detailed as this about a subject you are interested in I have some advice for you...... When you fire up the game, try to enjoy it. The world doesnt end if your Panther gets knocked out, your team gets hit by a mortar in a foxhole, or your opponent doesnt send the file back in a timely manner.

Well I have seen some of the alpha's for this game and in no way does it look like an alpha now haha. Anyway PC Gamer used to be a good magazine but hasnt been in many years. I would give them a 50% whereas in the past they were in the 90's. I also dont really view a 73% as such a bad score. This game is for the few so it's understandable that it just gets an average score to some and an excellent one from other. Besides, we know there's always something more to do better.
