Question on the Carbide Carbide Map
George MC replied to Frankster65's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Yup - just add 700 to the US score at the end. Otherwise no changes to the scenario. Carry on -
Question on the Carbide Carbide Map
George MC replied to Frankster65's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I've just finished rejigging the scoring to account for the issue that Holien highlighted. Can email you the file (hoping to upload it tonight) if that helps? New file gives the US player a 700 point bonus to account for the exit/not exit issue. -

Yeah the sound is still off. I've recompiled the video (original had 5.1 surround sound which may be the problem). It'll be uploaded soon - hopefully without the scratching noise! Thing is it's OK on my PC just seems to be something with You Tube. -

Had uploaded a short tank battle video for your viewing pleasure but for some reason the sound quality on the uploaded video is piss poor. Will sort it out when back from work. Bit of a damp squib this one... -

Hmmm... You know what they say about assumptions. You'd think it would be reasonable to assume so, if the designer has not been specific, but I think to be on the safe side you can't. Next best bet is check out the details on the repository (assuming you downloaded it from there) as sometimes the designer may put more specific info there, or if it's a CMBN one check out the designer notes actually in the game. Bit of a pain and it would be good if designers could ensure they state how the scenario is designed to be played. Most do some don't.

Running out of Memory?

Some top tips http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=101449 -
I've done a few maps that are more 'Euro' in feel. If you download the scenario pack for Forging Steel you'll get some large euro type maps. Also Panzer Angriffe uses a very large euro type map. All available from the repository.

Just mind if you go into a scenario and chnage the time limit you could affect the AI Plan (assuming playing against the AIO). The designer may allocate the time for the scenario and create an AI Plan that works within that time frame. If you exceed the time frame you will reach a point where the AI just stops as it's run out of AI Plan orders. Obviously not an issue in H2H. George

Carbide Carbide Scenario
George MC replied to Blackcat's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Hi H Apologies for the delay in responding. Bit hectic at my end right now. Glad you enjoyed the scenario. I've been reading your comments about the scoring with interest. I've not got the game to hand so I'm working from memory. From recall the bridges thing should work out. As it sounds it did for you. Exiting units gets you points - this you did. However what it lloks like is that any units you did not exit count as casualties. I had thought I'd given a bonus to the US to make up for this i.e. I give you the bonus for equal to that the Germans get for KOing your units. That way any you exit give you points whilst the bonus covers the points for units you don't exit. The German still get points for stuff they kill. I suspect the bonus for the US is not in this. I'll double check when I get in. It's awlays a bit of a rush getting these scenarios so wee erros like this sometimes creep in. It's an easy fix so I'll check it out and upload to the rerpository. Thanks again for playing it out and you have proven that it is winnable by the US (in spirit - least unitl I amend the points then it will be winnable. End of). Cheery! George
