  1. Lady Moraine May I suggest you contact your fellow member of House Rune, none other then No Good Cavscout and ask about cheese. He, habitating in the land of Cheese, being a true cheesehead will know of Cheese Shops. Perhaps a *boot* from his Lord may give him incentive to send you some smoked cheese. however, if he does so, I FULLY expect a taunt, along with a little heel digging into the back of both Boo and Emrys. Rune
  2. EXCUSE me, but alcohol poisoning was defintiely tried at my house. How was I to know the bugger was immune? Rune
  3. Exactly, you didn't ask for guesses. Since I am part of the internal team, i stated our official answer. It has not been announced yet. Rune
  4. It has NOT been announced yet. Rune
  5. As he is wont to do, Boo is fantazing about men in culottes. He hasn't been the same since he was Joebob's faithful sidekick. Stickypixxie you incredible lackwit. Of course the picture was not centered, what part of mass quanitities of scotch did you NOT understand? The horrid little gnome did not get to meet my wife, as she wisely went to work before he got there. He accused me of hiring the boys to play my kids, but the photos and other misc of my children just provided proof that he is out of his mind. While Berli got to drive a T34/85 into a mine field and kill himself, the gnome did not get to, as he couldn't reach the keyboard without a booster seat. Speaking of which, you haven't lived until you see evil start a tank while in its top gear. I didn't know you could make a tank do a wheelie. berli and the Gnome, which sounds like a television program, were last seen heading to their car, with Berli wondering which way to take 72 home. I didn't have the heart to tell him that going east would get him extremely wet, but I also haven't seen either one of them post yet. Hmmmmmmmmmmm Rune
  6. Who has a place to put three pictures. One of Berli, one of Seanachai, and one of Berli with Elvis the dog. Elvis is bolded due to the fact he was kissed by a man with scotch on his breath. The guys have left, it was quite a challenge to keep Elvis from using the gnome as a fire hydrant. The scotch is gone, as well as two pizzas. Rune
  7. Note the time, note that a half a bottle is gone. Note that pictures will be taken shortly. Rune
  8. In my case, it truely is a nasty cold. Gnome report: They are on the way here. Say good-bye to: Glenfiddich Special Reserve Single Malt Scotch Whiskey Aged 12 years When I throw a bash, it is expected to have good alcohol... but on Berli and Seanachai? It almost makes me weep. Rune
  9. Gnome report: I have alerted the National Guard and the Illinois State police. Cars leaving Wisconsin will be searched mroe then usual. If they don't catch the garden gnome, then I expect my scotch to be drank this afternoon. Incrimidating photos will be taken. Rune
  10. The Russian version was at Valera's site, which is www.battlefield.ru, under battles. however, it is not up right now, but you may want to consider helping out the web site. The German version was sent to me in email from someone here on the board. I'll look and see if I still have the email, but might be doubtful, since it has been a few years since I made that. Rune
  11. Phil got it exactly right, it is how I won it. Another way I tried was to setup the 88s, then take a flag position. When the Russian go for the flag, dead tanks. This is much more difficult to do. Rune
  12. Speedy, It is int he mail, no, really. Rune
  13. Amazingly enought, there are plenty of people who won as the Germans against the AI, and mroe then a few that got a draw. Was not designed for 2 player play. As for the 88s, protect them when you set them up, don't be in a hurry. Once set up, they can command the map. The soviet weakness is not enought infantry. You have to fight this in a series of battles using your brains, manuver and infantry. Rune
  14. Direct dial will not work unless you took the time to become a workstation on his workgroup, and the bottom line it would be the same speed, as the dialup is the slowest part of the equation. Rune
  15. GAJ, No it didn't come across that way, and I was answering everyone in that one port. Glad you enjoyed, and like I said, there is a reason for the ME, because of the AI is more prone to move then if on the defensive. It is a must for the scenario. A few things I wish I could have done with it, some of the Russian tanks were in haystacks. Wish I could of done that. The ground was a sand/dirt mix, so I used mud, but not really what was there. There was a light misting rain, I used light fog as it was the closest. Etc. I had reports from both sides, and the Russian battlefield web site and Valera helped quite a bit. Amazing the differnces between the Russian and German accounts. Rune
  16. BUMP So who will be coming Saturday? Will send out information if you are. Reply here and email me, email is in the profile. Rune
  17. BUMP To see if anyone is coming Saturday to look over T72. rune
  18. Scenario was set as a ME to modify the AI's behavior. The Sides have to be free to manuever, for various reasons which I do NOT want to give out as a spoiler. Also why should the briefings be correct all the time? You state you would have reacted differently, had you known. How realistic is this? Did the troops in the field KNOW the other side was matching forces? That the attack was an assault or an attack? Who said meeting zones cannot be offset? Why shouldn't they be? There is another scenario I made where the Allies attack a light defended town, and the Germans slowly develop a counter-attack. It is a meeting engagement altho it doesn't start out that way. Glad you like the scenario and glad it caught you by surprise...the King Tigers were surprised in the encounter. Yep, it was made, remade, and remade a few more times during the beta. I won't go back and re-do it, I have too much other work going on, and evilnesses to design. Rune
  19. Apologies, I cut and pasted you site when I was looking at another, and digging out some books. Rune
  20. ARRRGGGHHHHHHH. to further confuse the issue, it seems there were also some T-72as that were converted to the T72B standard without a new turret. Paul lakowski, where are you when I need you? I'll keep digging around on the armour issue. Rune [ March 10, 2005, 09:53 AM: Message edited by: rune ]
  21. From a tanker that took pictures of the T72s. Hi, Interestingly enough, I think everyone is correct in the turret being both mostly correct and horribly wrong. We have shot over a hundred of these to you-know-where and gone over the past ten years as remote controlled and static targets. I have quite a few photos of these, and quit taking them (ESPECIALLY of the former East German ones) becuase if I only focused on the differences between them I would have shots of about every third one! There must be at least six different turret types and styles, and at least some have antenna mountings moved from around to be similar (fat chance!) to U.S. type mountings..........I even have photos of one command tank directly out of storage that was us U.S. Olive Drab paint......it really stood out amongst the others! My feeling (opinion, not based on detailed data --- for that I trust to Steve Zaloga and company) is that each of the factories produced turrets that were similar but not identical above the turret rings, and that the longer this critter was in production the more variance crept in at each plant. from missing-lynx.com Interesting reading on the turret/dolly parton discussion.
