  1. OK, be prepared to be proven wrong. I will later today start a new thread on how to create a scenario with an AI plan. This was done from my request by George, one of the beta testers while we were working on the game. I will have to do some stuff to get the screenshots to show, but look for the start of the article in the forum something this evening or tomorrow morning at the latest. Rune
  2. Oh, and I am working on one of them too. Buah ha ha ha haaaaaaaa. Rune
  3. What I said is correct, You can setup AI plans and NOT worry about the units. You select the setup area for each plan, and the movement locations, by time. You can setup 5 different plans each plan can have 8 sets of units. Remember, this only needs to be done IF you are playing against the AI. Maps are attack/defend or meeting engagement, and are divided into terrain types. Again, this is necessary because maps are MUCH more detailed and complicated then CMX1. Tom is correct, I expect maps to come out in the dozens after the release and learning curve of making maps/scenarios. So, as a player, you still get to choose battle type, terrain type, and forces. The map is randomly picked by the terrain/type and if you play against the ai, a ai plan is selected. However, the maps have to be created manually. The computer cannot generate a map on its own. Rune PS For those not in the know the banter between Joebob and myself is a carryover from the Peng Challenge thread. Take conversation between the two of us with a grain of salt.
  4. No it hasn't. You select the forces and terrain and the game starts. The maps are randomly picked, so as more maps are added with AI plans if playing against the computer, or plain maps for 2 humans, the more radon the battle. It is not that difficult to understand. Yes, Sergei was joking. Careful, he is armed with a toothpick. Joebob, If you still dont understand I can try explaing it to you in your Native texan... a series of grunts and burps. Now leave me alone, am trying to watch the Chelsea vs Bolton match from last year. Ballock just scored on a header in addon time right before the half. 5. It is true, but remember each side has up to 5 plans, so the battle will not always play the same way. Yes, it takes time to do correctly, but well worth it in the long run, especially for qb against the AI. Sgt is also correct, if playing another human, AI plans are NOT used anyway. Rune
  6. No patch, and it has been stated for months. The maps are too complocated for the AI to make anything. Pre-made maps with ai plans for both sides will allow you to play QB against human or AI. Rune
  7. throw in airfare from Chicago and will bring a cd. hehehehehe Rune
  8. Yes, but only on pre-made maps. Rune
  9. Drivers are changing all the time, it works, but for me with Vista 64, I cannot have shadows. Haze works fine however. There are maps for quick battles, I would NOT call them simple. I made a few just for QBs and a few of the other guys did too. rune
  10. Map making is a lot different then CMX1. You have to think in contour lines and not in elevation for squares. Building can be combined and walls removed to make different shaped buildings, flavor objects can be put down and moved. The AI plans take some time to do correctly. Some of my scenarios I have 4-5 plans some with 8 groups of units. The scenarios could play different 4-5 times. [if the type didn't repeat]. All together one of the testers said "the map editor is a game in itself", a quote to which I like. Rune
  11. Yep there is a three month span, you can select day and time. Rune
  12. You cannot micromanage an indiviual soldier, the AI will get the troops to cover the doors and windows. Rune
  13. A correction. CMX1 does work under Vista 32 and 64 bit without fog, however Nvidia 8800 cards seem to have a problem. I just loaded CMAK and was playing fine with Vista 64 bit. However fog does NOT show up. Rune
  14. NGCav, Other then the things that I said were being worked on yet, go for it. Rune
  15. Preview is over, expect comments here tomorrow. Rune
  16. Works with both Vista 32 bit and 64 bit, but the 64bit Nvidia drivers are lacking. Rune
  17. A few hours to go. You cn still come ig you are in the area. Drop me an email and I will send you the address if you would like to attend, Rune
  18. I had a bunch of cancellations due to summertime things. Still going ahead, so if you want to attend, drop me a line. This Saturday you get the chance to play CMSF, just drop me a line. Rune
  19. Be nice or I will give one side a Finn armed with a toothpick. Becket, very busy but will see what I can do. No promises...adding a Finn into the battle takes time. Rune
  20. Then you have to store your polls, and you have to use a poll vault. Rune
  21. bauhaus you feckless git, CMSF Preview at my house Saturday, email me if you are interesting in seeing it. CMSF that is, not your thingy. Rune
  22. See, when asked nicely, I can bring out the big guns to answer questions. Also, don't forget, you can have 2 exact same forces fight it out. Skill with a little luck will determine the winner, not hand picking the sturmtruppen squad mit spatzel und three panzerkampfwagen III mit kitschensink with an artillery spotter with 75mm. Nope, now you have to use proper tactics to win, especially if an even force. T55MVs vs T-55 mvs. Ahhhhhhhhh Rune
