  1. Welcome to the boards. I sure hope you'll give CM:SF some time to grow on you. Paper Tiger's comments about the CMx1 engine are exactly right. Like Mord I have no wish to argue. just hope you'll stick around. BFC has announced the New Marine Module. I think the cost of it will be around $25. But also a free Dl of game improvements for the current game will also be available. You can get accurate information on all that here: http://www.battlefront.com/community/announcement.php?f=79&a=30

By the way...Your English is just fine...Beats my Spanish...!

  2. I have Posted a new Vid: "Incident in Isra" (Parts 1 and 2) It's a VERY mixed bag of Uncon's, Syrian Militia an US Infantry. A large Civilian population is the center piece. Right now you can only find it here:

    http://uk.youtube.com/user/WarlordMarkEzra

It has been uploaded to the AAR Contest site and will show up there in due course. This Vid was done with movie maker/fraps (full version @$37) and with some photo shop and audio clips. The audio clips were dl'd from several free sites.

  3. Hi,

I've bought CMSF last year and abandoned it due to known problems.

Today I've cleaned up my room, seen CMSF and I've tried it again with the 1.08 patch.

Now I'm impressed! Glad, that I haven't sold it!...Looking forward to the marines module and further improvements.

Is there any campaign/scenario/mod which is a must have?

    Thanks!

Glad you've given CM:SF another chance. But hold on to your hat cause it's gonna get better-er! www.CMMODS.com is loaded with excellent Scen and Mods and you will want the quick Battle Maps called QBG Vol 1-3. You'll want to load them into your CM:SF/Games/Quick Battle Maps file. There are also several other QBG maps styles From large to tiny. For maps designed for 2 player play (PBEM/Hotseat) dl QBG/2P. This one loads into your CM:SF/Games/Scenario file. Welcome Home!

  4. CelticFrost,

You can look at them straight away if you create your own mini-scenario in the editor.

There are basically three tank formations you can purchase for Red: "Reserve Tank", "Tank" and "Guards Tank". Within each formation you can also vary equipment quality by selecting a rating of "Poor", "Fair", "Normal", "Good" or "Excellent" before you purchase the unit. If you choose a "Reserve" Tank formation with "Poor" equipment, it will probably get T-55s. Page 116 of the manual shows the various tanks available to Red depending on formation type and equipment quality.

N.B. If you change the equipment rating AFTER purchasing the unit it doesn't change the tank model but according to the manual it changes the "reliability" of the tank, e.g. accuracy, chance of a dud/jam, etc.

    Well said! :)

  5. I never thought I'd like the modern as much as ww2 but the Syrian conflict is interesting because it somewhat models what our soldiers and marines have been going through in Iraq the last few years. Well, I played cmx1 since it came out and it looks like time to upgrade.

    same here.

  6. Who is Jon Christin Ryter: I looked around and found this...

"According to his website, it’s a pseudonym for a one-time reporter for the Parkersburg, West Virginia Sentinel, who wrote a syndicated column called “Answers From the Bible,” and who is now an advertising executive at the Washington Times. He is a contributor to a far-right wing website called News With Views, and writes stuff like “When America Was A Real Place To Be Proud Off” (I think he means “of”). " (Alan Combs...Hanity and Combs)

The failure of IndyMac has everything to do with Banking deregulation laws of the 1990's (Yes, signed by President Clinton ) which dismantled the the 1930's New Deal Bank protection laws. IndyMac came out of Countrywide Mortgage to become a bank. It's number and amounts of deposit are dwarfed by its actual capital base...Bundling and re-selling Home Mortgages. When that went South, so did they. IndyMac could not have existed prior to deregulation. My personal opinion is:

The idea that unfettered markets are ALWAYS best is in need of re-evaluation.

you can sign me: Ex-employee of IndyMac....I got out 3 years ago ;)
