  1. No I actually got turns off him, did you get mine?
  2. The return address in your email is being reported as configured: "Email not configured for @x4all.nl" Do you have another one? In the meantime, the turns are on my site.
  3. If there are no survivors, how do they report their findings.... </font>
  4. Yeah I got it and tried to return ~5 times. Starting with a real chatty message and ending with numbers. I can still receive but not send, which is either as a result of them messing with my broadband1 or with some corruption of my SMTP exe. If it's not working tomorrow I'll have to try to sort it. So feel free to send it and if I can't return then it'll upload it to my site with the expected number, 016 etc. Cheers. 1 they put the speed up to 4M
  5. I'm having some trouble sending emails, both with my normal account and PBEMH. Very odd. In the meantime, your turn is here: http://www.othermeans.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Tuscany014.txt
  6. Could you try to get a bit more use out of it please? I'm gagging for a turn.
  7. Exactly. And if we wait for CM:SF to be announced then we'll be buying stuff about the same speed as the top-spec stuff it was tested on.
  8. If you're using Firefox, and if you're not you should, go View->Page Style->No Style. This has redeemed many a website for me.
  9. I've had a .50 kill 2 PzIV in one battle. He was in the upper story of a building as they went by below and he went straight through the upper deck. They were unsupported as my opponent had to come through a band of trees and I had BIG arty. Good times
  10. Yes, he's done an excellent job. Did you see the wiki? He's built one for each site as well.
  11. I think all this will be done in "Dropteam", brought to you by your friendly neighbourhood BFC. They have variable gravity, air density etc addressed there. A Fuel-Air explosive in a methane atmosphere would just be an Oxygen explosive, which would be cool. The downside of low gravity would be that your shells would easily achive escape velocity and just go into space. And yes, The Forever War was a cool book.
  12. The HEAT is very inaccurate while that matters less with the HE. I'd area fire if possible.
  13. JasonC said they were usless on the attack and started an AAR with someone to illustrate this. However I think he was getting beaten and the AAR stopped, which is a shame as it was enjoyable and I'd have liked to see the results either way. He was defending BTW.
  14. No. It's a glitch, I insist. Back in early CMBO days, you could occasionally target through several houses. This was fixed. Sometimes these things still happen, but not that often. If any of it is intentional from Charles' part, you may as well call me Katja. </font>
  15. See this website of the Royal tank regiment in WWII. It details the casualties for each day. One thing you notice is the steady drip of men killed or wounded while scouting, generally as "shot in the stomach". Nasty.
  16. Falk has done a site, I don't know it's relation to this one but he's done a great job: http://cmbb.jemian.com/ and for CMAK http://cmak.jemian.com/
  17. Vehicles are only useful for recon by bang, which gives you no real info as they generally go bang before you see the banger. Sharpshooters 100m in front of the main body I find are best, as they can get close enough to resolve sound contacts without being seen, while the main body is being shot at by your opponents MG's. With them, I use full squads with 150m CA's and MTC, then no CA's and advance when under fire. Pretty standard I guess, except most people split the lead squad. I find it better not to as they can only spot when not pinned, and they pin less in the full squad. YMMV. The only time I scout with vehicles is when I suspect mines, and then I take the cheapest/most useless first. Generally a bren carrier as I tend to play British. The CW get some great armoured cars but I prefer to use these in a somewhat withdrawn role, as the guns on them are great. The Staghound III is MG proof and can kill a PzIV @ > 700m.
  18. It's not "I'm not using area fire" = I'm making a stand against area fire, it's "I'm not using area fire" = should I?
  19. On defense you need one to pop off enemy TC's and one to look for his FO's. If you can double this up it's even better. I've had a single guy take out at least 800 pts worth of FO (in AK mind). Not a bad return.
  20. Does this mean I'm correct in the supposition? It says directions but not ranges but nevertheless suggests it. I've always used the short 180º arc myself but lately I've started to think it's wrong. Anyone done any actual tests?
  21. Soviets can substitute TH's with RPG's for Shrecks at this stage IIRC.
  22. Been wondering about this recently. A cover arc makes the unit concentrate in this area, does it not also *reduce* spotting outside of it?
  23. Where's the bit where they go through the wormhole that's my favourite.
  24. Actally, even that is an oversimplication, as I'm sure some suspension grog will be along to tell you.
