You don't have to buy anything again. Simple submit a ticket as Bill mentions, and ask for a key reset.

Yup, this was mostly a technical update to add support for these additional devices. Various Android devices are up next, and we're also working on various Gameplay updates, but it's too early to talk about that yet.

Wrong game version than the scenarios were saved with, most likely.

If AVG (falsely) reports viruses (in fact, it's reporting a "heuristic" scan, which means that it doesn't know what it is... I wish they would finally make this more transparent to users!) then the files in question are not correctly set as exceptions.
You could whitelist the entire directory, too.

Thread moved. And no, indexing is disabled for words with less than (IIRC) 4 letters. There are some specific exceptions set by hand, but it's impossible to accommodate all wishes.

Sorry to break the bad news to you, but the expansion only works with the original Battlefront version of Global Conflict. It does not work with any other game version. It says so on the expansion game and purchase pages.
If you'd like a return, contact us at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk (click on "Submit Ticket"). I can also offer you the base game at a discount, alternatively.

The demo is v1.10, and the latest game version are 1.10 as well. So yes, the demo includes the latest patch.

This should be our new slogan, really. It is one of the major differences between a simulation like CMBN and table/chart based strategy games. Some people who grew up with the latter and got used to the relative predictability of it seem to have issues from time to time with the oddball outlier you get in CMBN. That's not to say that CMBN gets everything right. There is room for improvement, no doubt. Probably always will be. Which is a good thing. Some day we want to sell a CMx3That variability isn't a flaw. It's a feature.Martin

What do you. Mean with "key"? Do you mean your license key?
You can look up your license key at any time for a downloadable game in your online account at www.battlefront.com/store. After logging in, click on "My Account" from the top menu.
If you forgot your login, go to www.battlefront.com/lostpw. Enter the email you registered with and you will get an email with a new password and your username (called User Account) in the email.

The problem isn't one of budget. A dedicated marketing person still couldn't give you any more info than is available.
-
It's simple, really... the time when we are the busiest is the time when no one is available to take care of you children Incidentally, we're the busiest right before something new and big is coming up.
Part of this is due to the fact that we don't have a marketing department to keep you entertained while everyone else is busy actually making games. We went independent to get rid of the marketing suits after all.
Another part of it is also the way we make games. Most game developers do fancy artwork first (for the marketing department that needs to sell the title to retailers). We do them last. This keeps the head free for the important stuff, like, making a good game and stuff.
So we don't really have much to show usually until sometime late into beta.
And the last piece of the puzzle is that showing you stuff is quite a distraction for the entire team. Especially when the news require explanation, answering of questions etc.

This forum has a Buddy List, which allows you to see if friends are online. It's not real-time chat, but allows you to exchange PM's with people in your Buddy List. Look at the main menu bar under QuickLinks, then click on Open BuddyList.

The helpdesk and the main site share logins. You can register an account here:
https://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_registration&task=register&Itemid=35
...unless you already have one (which you do if you purchased directly from us at some point since Oct 2007).
All of this is explained in detail in the Knowledgebase, by the way:

Make sure that you put the module exe files into the right place, i.e. inside the modules folders (not in the game root).
-
Most av programs store files in some sort of quarantine area , so you should be able to recover them. Contact the support of your av of choice if you need help with how it's done.

BTW, we've seen perhaps two or three cases with "no sound" so far, and all of them have been resolved by the user un-muting his iPad and adjusting the sound, then restarting the app. The mute and the sound adjustment buttons are different buttons on the iPad.

Apparently, when I try to execute the exe for the British module (to do the licensing thing) I get the following message:
"The program can't start because msvcr71.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
Strangely, the base game and other modules work. So what the hell is going on here?!
what on god's green earth is "msvcr71h.dll " ?!?!
Oh wait, I just noticed that you are saying that you are executin the module exe? You can't do that. Only launch from the main exe. This could explain your error as well.
-
what on god's green earth is "msvcr71.dll " ?!?!
This is a good example of how bad antivirus software can ruin your day. msvcr71.dll is a Windows native library, a copy of which should reside inside your game folder. This library is of course perfectly safe. Check your AV program for quarantined files.

Some anti-virus programs are confused by the eLicense protected exe files because of the encryption that they use. If you allow your AV to "guess" and flag "unknown" files (called "heuristic" scanning), then they may trigger a false positive.
Heuristic scanning can be useful, but if you do enable it, then you should consider telling your AV to not automatically remove such files, but instead to prompt you for action. If you know the files are ok, then you can tell it to ignore or set an permanent exception and save yourself some trouble.
I just wish that the documentation coming with many AV programs was better and functions more transparent (or their defaults make more sense).

For eLicense protected games, you are limited to 2 concurrent activations per game. I.e. you can have it running on 2 PCs at the same time. You CAN install on a third, but in order to play, you have to UNLICENSE one of the other 2 first.
Some people who travel a lot have the game installed on 3 (or more), and simply unlicense and relicense as needed, so they always have 2 games active where they are.
Other people simply buy another license. We offer some discounts for that.
For games using our new Online Activation System, this does not apply, however. And while you do get 4 initial activations, no questions asked, the same End User License Agreement still applies, and you are really only allowed 2 concurrent activations, as well. The other 2 are "overflow" activations for when you change PCs.
To make a long story short: it's not possible to get a "free" third activation for CMSF games, sorry. But you can buy an extra copy at a discount. Go to www.battlefront.com/helpdesk and click on Submit Ticket if you are interested.

Unless your computer breaks down every week, you can always ask for a reset. The reset limit is temporary, not permanent, we can reset it only so often in a certain period of time.
You have the renting part backwards. You effectively only rent games from every online outlet out there that bind your game to it's online system. They can pull it at any time. We are one of the few where you actually own the game, can copy it etc. Once you have it, no one can take it from you.
However, what you own is not the source code, but a license to use it. This is true for every piece of software out there with a commercial license. Our activation system enforces the limits set by the User Agreement that is part of this license that you purchase.
