  1. Lookin' great !! You probably don't need Republican Spain either, which will free up another country slot
  2. Sounds like a positive change. How far South will the map then go in Africa? Did you mean that China and Japan will become Brazil and Switzerland -- or Brazil and Uruguay? Good luck with the project.
  3. This may not be a workaround, but I was stuck in September 1942 -- I could not finish the same turn despite exiting the game and going back several times. After leaving it for about 48 hours, I reloaded it yesterday, and have run through mid-1943 with no further "Thinking ..." freezes. Is this a feature that Hubert has included in v1.03 to force us to get away from SC2 once in while to get reintroduced to our families ??
  4. You are not alone. See "Thinking ..." in the Tech Forum
  5. So there you go. Problem solved! Let's hope so. For now, 1.03 is unplayable
  6. BDW is right. That "one more turn" syndrome is a killer. I'm having the same problem with v1.03 on the plain vanilla game starting in August 31, 1942. "Thinking ..." Freeze. If I reload, it freezes on the next AI turn. Hubert: Do you still need the autosave file? If so, how do I send it, and to what address? What is the fix?
  7. And how did all these extra German "corpses" do in action against the Soviets? Note: one of the maddeningly illogical aspects of English grammar is words that are both singular and plural -- one corps, many corps. Corpses are dead bodies. And, indeed, there were plenty of those on both sides.
  8. What in the world does that comment have to do with this forum? But I echo the request for F&F to post what they've got -- at least the map.
  9. Steve: Very impressed with your work on the Interface. This is a very nice upgrade. Congratulations !!
  10. I think the map needs some more work. As a Canadian I cannot understand why there is an "ice sheet" across the NW corner of the map. During slow times, I like to run my Canadian cruiser around Baffin Island to demonstrate Canadian sovereignty. I remember that there was some gamey purpose to this, but couldn't you use the centre of Africa or Siberia for this purpose? Secondly, as an "old Africa hand" I am deeply bugged by Madagascar being modeled as an enclave on the African continent. I have moved it out into the Indian Ocean -- modding only the northern tip A couple of spelling corrections: Djibouti, capital of then French Somaliland, Abidjan in French West Africa. The port for Accra should be Tema -- Accra has a beach, but no port. Tem is some 30 or 40 Km to the east. Since you are using city names along the African coast, note that Gambia was a colony, the capital city (since 1973: Banjul) was called Bathurst, named after an otherwise forgettable British Foreign Secretary. I have made so many changes to the Ver 4 map, that I am unable to update to Ver 5. However in the longer run the F&F map appears to offer a more promising product, when it finally comes out.
  11. Honch: Yes, Uruguay was neutral From Worldwar2database.com The German Pocket Battleship Admiral Graf Spee, a heavy cruiser armed with 15" guns, was chased into Montevideo by three British cruisers. Much to Hitler’s dismay, the captain landed his crew, scuttled the ship, and killed himself. The Allies, desperate for victories, made a bigger deal of the Battle of the River Plate than its actual military significance.
  12. W O W ! ! I can't wait to get my hands on this one. What an outstanding piece of work. Chapeau, mes amis !!
  13. This looks fantastic!! Particularly the map work. Did you have to sacrifice any scale in Europe? Be sure to post it on cmmods.com as soos as it's ready.
  14. Yes. Seems to be down. Why doesn't Battlefront.com provide this service?
  15. Thanks ND. BTW in my version of the Editor (at least) the button to look for is UPDATE not UPLOAD.
  16. ND, "Yes the scripts are in the correct folders, but the game will not use them unless they are uploaded into the campaign file using the editor." How exactly do I do that?
  17. Liam, that post doesn't make any sense at all -- at least to this reader
  18. Several times while playing against the AI (as either Axis or Allied) I have had submarines (running Silent) attacked by opposition subs. They were damaged, and sometimes inflicted damage on the attacker. This is not realistic. A duel of deck guns, perhaps? I am not aware of any WWII submarine sunk at sea by another sub. Is there a fix for this small bug?
  19. The Free French capital was Libreville, in what is today Gabon.
  20. The Cross of Lorraine has two horizontal bars (equidistant top to bottowm) with the bottom one being a bit longer. As the name suggests, its origins are in Lorraine in Eastern France, But it was the symbol of Joanne of Arc, thus its use by the Free French. It was dispalyed in red on the white vertical band of the French tricolour
  21. Here's a link to the flag that was generally used by DeGaulle's Free French from 1940 - 1945. There were a number of variants -- particularly naval ones, but all incorporated the red Cross of Lorraine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Flag_of_Free_France_1940-1944.svg
  22. I'll put in $500 if it would only entice Rambo to take his adolescent rants to another board.
