LFH---Having just played another new one of your ME maps I wanted to just return to this thread and add yet again thanks for your excellent QB maps--find them the most convincing , varied and interesting maps on which to plan and see implemented tactical battles where all sorts of varied approaches , tactics and outcomes are possible. Really hope you will continue to create many more of these excellent QB packs for us QB players. Cheers and best wishes

  3. Mod much appreciated --many thanks. But I have what appears to be a small numbering problem---set up a QB with Green late platoon and red mid platoon. What appears for me are --Green 321,322 and 2x323s Red 232,234 and 2x233s Can this be corrected or is it an endemic problem ? Again your work much appreciated.
  4. Does a German 81mm mortar (or mortar section) used as off-map artillery have access to a larger supply of ammo than a similar 81mm mortar (or section )used on-map . If there is a difference and I assume there probably is-- how great is this difference. Many thanks for any insight on this.
  5. Would it be possible in QBs v AI to add in an Arty/NonArty option. Especially on small maps arty can in my opinion dominate too much. This option would allow people to follow their preference either way so everybody wins.....

So in effect orientation is not possible with only a single piece of trench or barbed wire etc--------rather like todays British Military intending to "rule the waves" with no aircraft carrier materialising for 10 years------ I was being too miserly with my expenditure for any fortification to be effective................   7. Sure I should know this or should be able to work it out but have failed to find how to modify, in setup phase, the orientation of trenches etc and cant spot relevant info in Manual. Any brief hints for the afflicted much appreciated......
  8. Echo---Cant agree with you . Just replicated the QB sitn you describe and found both sides appropriately positioned with the Germans set up in a small zone to initiate attack and Americans defending area including the target. Can only hypothesise that you are perhaps jumping to false conclusions from the general Preview ---but the actual sitn when troops have been purchased and the actual battle setup initiated is in fact appropriate

  10. Thanks for feedback-----Was it the custom as losses had their impact on German officer numbers to ensure as far as possible that the 1st Platoon CO was an officer but it would be far more likely that 2nd and 3rd platoons would have an NCO as Commander. (Submitted before last response)----

No expert but just puzzled With German infantry units it appears from the in-game rank indications shown in interface that 1st platoon commanders are always Lieutenants but 2nd platoon commanders are never officers of any rank. Puzzled as to why this appears to be the case. Any enlightenment would be appreciated-thanks

Excellent timing Humbug---just completed a perfect German capture of all 3 objectives and found on conclusion the whole U.S. force scornfully sleeping peacefully in the NW corner of the map----despite no opposition I stlll managed to end up with 1 wounded German Fusilier--but I like the map and secretly really enjoyed the successful operation--only managed then a Tactical Victory because I finished with 1 casualty more than the Americans.....war is a swine...........
  13. I am presuming that if all mods are contained within Z folder there is no need to remove this folder from the game folder before patching . But with no past experience of this method of patching I would just welcome confirmation, Thanks
  14. I too ,am very surprised and disappointed that no explanation or change has been made re these U.S. rockets costs. And in battles V AI they cannot be banned..
  15. Above problem solved by setting IE zoom back to 100 from 150% where I had it set up. Cheers
  16. Mad Mike--thanks for the hint--I do have my IE zoom set at 150 (eyes suffering from too many years of wargames)---if I reset to 100 the display is fine. Many thanks for the excellent tool and for your help with my issue.

Re formatting-I have a problem with the group of items containing duration time and size info etc--spaces here too narrow for words and words superimposed over one another---all other sections fine and I think the tool is very valuable. (widescreen 1920/1080) Any feedback re the problem described
  18. Very much appreciate the use and value of this tool but i have one issue ---the narrow sections indicating length, time of day etc are overwritten by the words and some words overwrite others in this section--other sections are fine . I am using a wide screen display 1920/1080 Cheers

Stingray 1) Make sure on initial selection screen " Map Preview Allowed " is on --Either have map chosen automatically or chosen by you--either way you can preview. 2) As soon as you go to purchase units screen- first press on left of screen box "Preview Map"--this takes you to the map for a full preview. Use "Screens" menu to return to Editor and select your perfect battle group......and then prepare your excuses.....

Oddball---Dont disagree with that at all -but I also enjoy as well the more intensive firefights --especially enjoy German defensive battles with infantry only (with some AT guns and p'schreks) defending on smaller map areas v U.S mixed or armoured forces attacking. I really like both types of sitn but am finding the second type with smaller maps now quite difficult to find variety. Hence my specific plea. Meeow Meeow.......guess my pet.....

I just wondered if there were any guys out there currently involved in making any QB maps with both sides AIs. in place I must admit I have a predeliction for QB s v AI especially with small or medium size maps and there is now a real problem with finding any fresh and unfamiliar maps to fight over. If anyone with some expertise and experience is developing any new sets of QB maps I should be extremely grateful---(Personally,if it were felt acceptable by BF and modders here, I would not be averse to payment for the d/l of new sets of QB maps to guys who have spent time and expertise to produce such sets to improve the longevity of the game).   22. A quick supplementary question for info please-----In "Quick Battles" in Bocage in July have you witnessed the AI as U.S employing Rhinos in their OOB ? Thanks
