If I have an FO team call for fire, then get killed, there is no reason that another FO should be denied the artty or air-support that the dead FO called for for the entire battle. In real life the FDC would cancel the mission after the spotting round was not corrected or used for an FFE. The assets would then be available again for anyone who called for them.
