Having Trouble Stacking Commands.

Recommended Posts

I've read and re-read the Tutorial on manual page 28. I'm trying to learn how to Stack Commands. I can't seem to get the hang of it.

It's the part about "left clicking on the colored line", I think, that's confusing. When I do that, the waypoint path is altered to reflect a new waypoint where I just clicked on the colored line.

After that, things get all messed up, as the entire sequence of stacked commands gets changed to "Slow Crawl" which is supposed to be the last move command that the mortar crew takes before they Deploy the mortar in the tutorial.

Is there a better step by step explanation of command stacking somewhere?

Stacking movement commands is done automatically. Select your unit, select move order, click waypoint, select a different move order, plot a waypoint, and it will follow on from the last one. You only need to select a waypoint if you a) want to change the movement order to that waypoint, or to set a face, smoke, target or arc command at that waypoint.

I had some questions about stacking commands at the same place in the tutorial:

How many commands can you stack on one selected waypoint?

How can you see what commands you have stacked on a waypoint?

In the tutorial, they stack a Deploy Weapon and a Cover Arc on one waypoint.

How can you see what commands you have stacked on a waypoint?

A unit can simultaneously perform one command from each tab (the admin tab happens instantly, so that doesn't matter). So one each from the movement, combat, and special tabs.

So the tutorial example of stacking commands is about as complicated as it can get for one waypoint.
