I have 2 seperate mg detachments in the same building. One team or I should say one man because the other 2 are casualties has about 95% amunition. The other 3 man team has about 5% ammo and is in desperate need of ammo.Is there anyway to get it from one team to the next so they have about 50% each? And also why cant you acquire ammo from a destroyed truck?

One way: have the one man take a round for the team. Have the 3 man team perform buddy aid. They should grab his ammo when they're done. It's hard decisions like that which make being a commander so difficult. ( Pity the commander; that bastard taking the round got off easy! :) )

Just to round off an excrutiatingly useful set of answers, the likes of which I have seldom seen :D...

About not being able to acquire ammo from destroyed vehicles:

a) If the vehicle is of the blazing flames destroyed persuasion, that's your answer there. Grunts don't like fire.

B) If the vehicle is not on fire, you have to consider the problem in a more abstracted way. Picture it as a twisted heap of broken metal, or picture the doors being bent out of whack so your guys can't get in, or the ammo boxes popped open and the rounds scattered across the countryside, under the seats, etc. CMSF doesn't have a visual damage model aside from the flames mentioned above, so one has to use one's imagination.

c) If the crew bailed because something important broke down and they got too scared, and the vehicle is just standing around empty, you can send people in to get stuff. You just can't drive it around without the crew.

Cheers!

That's why people like playing Marines. Their MTVR truck is carrying an astounding quantity of ammunition. More, I think, than anything else in the game. Bullets, bombs, missiles - you name it. So players practice the fine art of getting their trucks as close to the action as possible without actually being in the LOF. Three trucks following you and you're never gonna run out'a ammo! :D

You're MikeyD. I have provided 3 such trucks to the Marines in El Derjine Campaign "Al Hillah Battle" and its Stand alone. That makes a lot of ammo for the guys, the Smaw and Javelin's teams. But, unfortunatelly, the trucks have to be near the fight to be reached quickly. Therefore, it is not always easy to have them out of the enemy LOS. When they are hit it makes a nice explosion and to make it worse that happens, when your guys are in it getting ammo or near it. Looks like these trucks are in high demand as a shooting target by the enemy. Too bad we can't unload their stock and get them out of harms way.

A guy resupplying from a crate is somehow less expose than getting into a truck.

Is it worth to implement such possibility ?

Cheers all of you and Merry Xmas
