John Kettler
Saw this the other night at B&N and wanted to pass the word to those of you who don't know about it. Seems highly pertinent to the core game and the modules to come. http://www.amazon.com/Militant-Tricks-Battlefield-Islamic-Insurgent/dp/0963869582 Regards, John Kettler
M1A1TC
I had this book for a few years. Very interesting insight into the mind of the Middleastern soldier
Clavicula_Nox
It will go on my list. Currently I'm reading James Lucas' Das Reich and Men of Steel, about the 1.SS Panzer-Korps through Ardennes and Hungary. but I don't remember the author. *edit* Oops, forgot to say thank you, John.

John Kettler
Clavicula_Nox, JonS, is correct as to the second book's author. I saw the hardback at B&N only a few nights ago. If it's anywhere nearly as good as STEEL INFERNO, then it's on my must read list. You're welcome! M1A1TC, What's this use of the past tense, or are you someone blessed with excellent recall? M1A1TC
John Should I have said "I've had this book for years" ? Is that more proper English? Sorry, Russian in my native language As far as the book, mine was published in 2005, same year I bought it
Clavicula_Nox
Since we're talking books, I'm placing an order for Lucas' Storming Eagles - German Airborne Forces in World War II. I need a good book on the 12.SS, I'm not interested in Meyer's Grenadiers, I think Stackpole Books published one, are there any others?
Combatintman
If you read anything by Lucas you're wasting your time imho - lazy author and no depth. Say what you will about Meyer (namely a tad partisan and an apologist) - bottom line he has/had access to the blokes who were there and was there himself. Lucas pretty much runs on very secondary and even tertiary sources - lacks any detail - you might as well read wikipedia.
Clavicula_Nox
The problem with Meyer, and this is only heresay, is that every individual I know and respect when it comes to WW2 history regards Grenadiers as an excellent book, but one in which Meyer does everything in his power to turn himself into a Not-So-Bad-Guy. Of course Meyer was there, after all, he commanded the 12.SS for a time. For Lucas, Das Reich has been a very good read, and so far most of his sources have been 2. SS members, Storming Eagles came highly recommended to me, but I'll keep that in mind when I look it over.
Clavicula_Nox
I also want to add that Lucas is himself a WW2 veteran and engaged Fallschirmjager troops (including being captured by some for a few weeks) in Africa and Italy.
akd
The "better together" book listed at Amazon is also an interesting read: Tactics of the Crescent Moon: Militant Muslim Combat Methods by H. John Poole
