maniac_mat
i dont think it is just a vista thing, im using an Nvidia card, although its only a 6600, i run games like MTW2 on high with no slow downs.
rune
Try a newer driver, the 101.02 seems to be the newest. http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1609 Rune

Spartan
Rune, My driver is 8.360.0.0 for ATI Radeon Express 200. Just to say this is very far away from being right. Its not just a tweak needed. Game is grabbing 100%CPU. Mike - Spartan
Hpt. Lisse
Mike - problem is, (depending on the hardware-abilities of the 200 chip) your computer may try to offload certain graphics functions via software rendering, which would then consume CPU resources. maniac_mat
After playing the mission again, it seemed to run better at first, but as the game went on it got slowed, and it wasnt becuz more units got on screen, when the first big wave came on the game was running at a tolerable fps, near the end, it was unplayable with just a little more or even the same units as before, seems odd, or maybe its just me? rune
Mike-Spartan Yep Hpt Lisse is again correct. The Intergrated video is lacking a bit and tieing up the cpu offloading video. Running the full game, I never got above 60% utilization on the cpu. I found this article on the chipset you are running: http://techreport.com/reviews/2004q4/radeon-xpress200/index.x?pg=1 Anandtech also has a great article with cards they added in. It is most definitely NOT a game issue. Rune
ScottD
I'm running into speed issues with the new Catalyst Drivers that just came out today. I when I was trying the demo out early this morning, I had everything uninstalled (video driver) due to Catalyst control center crashing after boot up with my 64-bit Version of Vista. The game ran alright. I got home from work tonight and installed the Cat 7.4 drivers and the game is a total slideshow..and I'm getting graphic artifacts that are popping up everyonce in a while. Anyone else running into this? Specs: Core2Duo E6400 4Gb Ram 2x Radeon 1950XT Pro cards running Crossfire Vista 64 bit Ultimate I tried enabling and disabling the singe CPU option, didn't make any changes. i dropped my Video resolution from 1920x1200 to 1200X900 or so, no improvement there either. Hpt. Lisse
What's your specs, maniac_mat? I mean, driver version? Any AA settings in effect? What else is running in the background? You have turned off this "HT" ability in the Nvidia driver set? [ April 18, 2007, 07:01 PM: Message edited by: Hpt. Lisse ]
maniac_mat
driver version is 101, no AA settings, nothing in backround, now HT ability im not sure about, how do you disable it?
Hpt. Lisse
Chad44 mentions it a few posts up from here... gotta be something in the Driver Control Panel... we could ask Chad44 what NV driver he's using... I don't see it in mine, but since I don't run a PIV, there's no HT at work.

Spartan
Rune, Sorry I think this is a game issue. The ATI Radeon xpress 200 works great with every other game under the sun and at hi settings. Maybe im giving the impression that I would just like it to run faster. This is not the case. I see a model move/animate once every 3 seconds! TOW must be doping something different from all the other game manufacturers for it to be this way. I have reloaded the driver to 7.1 still no difference. Does this problem seem to be coming from AMD 64 Athlon Users?? Any more suggestions? you1
Hi Guys new well new to this forum, downloaded the demo, and played it 4 some hours, I 've had no issues with game or graphics, which suprised me some what since my PC is over 2 years old and was put together with parts off Ebay. Spec XP3000 Barton chip running at 2.4ghz Asus A7N8X-E Delux MB 2x160gb sata maxtor 8mb H/Drives 2Gb crucial ram ATi radeon XT9600 256mb /X1050 series chip System as you can see is about minium spec yet autodetect played on all the highest settings, even when you zoom in to play alongside your troops tanks etc, graphics are GR8 detail on that Jagtiger is cool.! I have to read the manual all more tanks turned to rear and got there behinds turely spacked, I helped a friend with vista, Like running win98 games in Xp use the compat mode to run the game in XPSP2 try and set the install EXE file and config file to compat to XPSP2 it worked for him although it ran slow due to his Graphics card been a 128mb I read somewhere i'll look up the link that duel core (conroe) cpu's share there cache which really speeds up the flow of data to such a degree the graphics can be a bottleneck unless you have SLi . I'm interested in this post because am looking to start a build with the (conroe) cpu, from reading this people whom have a high end spec sysem seem to be haveing issues. All my drivers are up to date also set to application, Some findings The panther G was disabled almost as soon as the Russian tanks appeared The shot trap under the main gun, I know this was a issue with the D and A panther ,but I played the battle 4 times each time it was disabled with main gun out. T34 85 took two hits to the turret from a PZ1VH and still knocked out the PZ1V with one shot this was at below 300mts. Slight graphic issue with trenches seem to be covered or masked in side the trench even your own trench Found the AI leaving troops in a truck taking fire, until the truck or troops where all dead, training in any army in a soft truck you got out and took cover. Like I said I have to read the manual to see if you can turn control over to the AI when your to busy with other things Game looks cool but I think some patching will need doing.
