Actual my problem was more simple than that. I had downloaded the file a couple of times but with defender on. Defender had stripped files from the down load some how. So everything I tried from that point on was useless. Instead of about 15 files in the data directory, I had only 4. so everyone hide, I’m about to buy the upgrade mike

big thanks to everyone especially BFC Elvis. Windows defender had screwed everything up at the time i downloaded the setup file. Files missing from that point on. All good and working well. Now after about 10 years i must get back to Pbem:) Happy new year everyone. Mike

Thanks but i dont think its security related. I dont run a firewall as its a gaming only pc. But i disabled Defender and as many other security options as i could with the same results. Just to say the game never starts just completes the splash screen. Ive reinstalled at default location...Same.. Run as Administrator same result. Strange thing is if i look at the program in Apps the thumbnail has a red X. And the shortcut has two arrows in the top right corner pointing towards each other??? Mike

Hi, Ive tracked this down a bit more. So the incoming file definitely appears in the dropbox shared folder correctly but doesn't get transferred to the games incoming folder. If i do that manually it comes up fine.. Mike

Hi, Thanks for everyones help. I now have 5 games running. 3 are fine and synced to dropbox folder but there are 2 others which will not pick up the dropbox share no matter what i try. There are setup same as the working games. Ive tried setting up new dropbox folders and reshaping but nothing. Yet the folder share itself is working ok as I'm passing files there manually. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? Thanks, Mike

Hi Guys, Ive been moving from an old mac to a new one. As part of the process the setup pulled over the old helper setup. But when i reinstalled all the CM stuff i started getting errors. I keep getting errors now when i try to add a dropbox game. Ooops, individual game file folders have to be under your specified Dropbox root: /Users/mikeleathem/Dropbox Can't set game file folder to /Users/mikeleathem/Documents/Dropbox/The Quarry Can anyone help please? Hi, Im trying to load in some scenarios for CMRT but i am running it on a MAC version of the game. I can't seem to find a path to the scenario folder which is where i assume i should place the scenarios .btt files. Mike

Steve, Thats it. I was expecting it to install as a module and I didnt know where the in and out folders where until I read another post. Only problem I have now is H2H wont pick up the file but ill find away around that. Thanks, Mike

No same problem. I cant chose default folder because that would be c:/programfiles/combatmission. Its windows XP. I cant figure out how commonwealth installed ok as a module.. Mike

Hi, My CMBN and CMCW games are installed in c:/programfile/combat mission battle for normandy. Both work fine. But when I install CMFI in this directory I just get a new game subfolder Combat Mission Fortress Italy. Not sure what to do here. Can anyone tell me what the path should be? I cant mess around either cause ive already uninstalled it once. Question two: How do I unlicence because none of the documentation on the site seems to work. Thanks, Mike

Hi, My original C: drive was playing up so rather than rebuild it I bought a new drive, installed it as C and the old drive is now D. So I need to reinstall CMSF Marines, British and NATO. Ive gone to the old drive and uninstalled. Ive loaded the game from CD and patched to 1.2. Now loaded Marines and tried to license but no joy. Its reporting error code 11 no licenses available. What do I need to do? Thanks, Mike

I agree with El Gato. I stopped playing at game one because the infantry were just stupid. While of course you have to give orders to your squads in the original game the ai would have them wander around in the open where they would proceed to die very quickly. Has anything changed in this regard. I would expect to be able a few squads to attack a hill and hope trhat they would take cover or even retreat rather than just disappear in the attack as was happening. Also, has anything happened to borg spotting? Thanks, Mike

Its a pity we dont have a points system to encourage more equal battles. A lot of people comment on this very fact when comparing the game to CMBB and CMAK. Unless you are able to design a complete scenario. How does anyone rank ladder games without it? Mike
