Sammy_Davis_Jnr Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 I know it has nothing to do with the game (apart from the fact it a ww2 gallery) but i thought people would enjoy this site. http://www.ww2incolor.com/gallery/ww2incolor -------------------------------- Remember that there is nothing stable in human affairs; therefore avoid undue elation in prosperity, or undue depression in adversity. gunnersman Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Thats not right! Everyone knows WW2 was fought in black in white. Thank you Sammy_Davis_Jnr. Nice find.

Of course, all people fom this time had a black and white vision.Only the über Finns and the Hamstertruppen could see in colour (but at the moment the colour was coded in 4 bits, resolution VGA 340*240 12 frames/sec. ). Some people made colour photography film back in 1910's with potatoes. What a bunch of idiots !
John Kettler Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Sammy_Davis_Jnr, Had been through the site, but I guess I hit just the main topics. The "other" category is full of treasures. Spanish Civil War SM-79--in color! Many pictures directly usable by TOW devs or modders. Regards, John Kettler

Regards, John Kettler you probably know this already, be careful when judging the authentic coloring from old color photographs.
RMC Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Originally posted by M Hofbauer: you probably know this already, be careful when judging the authentic coloring from old color photographs. Reminds me... Something I came across in a blog I look at frequently. Old color pictures photoshopped to improve colors and sharpness. http://kottke.org/plus/misc/bound-for-glory/
Vergeltungswaffe Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 RMC, that is a damn nice link. Loved the Civil War pics.
John Kettler Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 M Hofbauer, Fair point! I wish, too, that whoever is making documentaries for the History Channel would knock off the artsy fartsy color toning of what would ordinarily be great WW II B&W footage. Not only does it look wrong, IMO, but much visual detail is suppressed as a result. Regards, John Kettler
