Bogging, Am I missing something?

Recommended Posts

I had an Abrams bog down on a slope. At least I assume it was bogged as I never could get it to move again. I was wondering, however, where can I check the status of the vehicle to read that it definitely is bogged? It's not obvious like the Cmx1 series, at least to me it wasn't. I searched the manual and found no answer. Thanks.

Around the botton-center of the control panel. You either see nothing, or the word 'Bogged', or 'Immobilized'. I think its the same spot that shows that its been 'Destroyed'.

... that's odd, I just did a quick search for the word 'bog' in the pdf manual and got zip on the topic.

MikeyD is right, "bogged" vehicles show the word bogged and "immobilized" ones show immobilised there where it would display destroyed when it is destroyed. immobilized vehicles get the yellow unit base also.

on top of that, you can see bogged vehicles trying to free themselfs, they are mostly not totaly stationary but often display turning weels/tracks and are moving verry verry slightly forward and backwards. in trenches one can see it the most.

as in CMx1, after some time not manageing to free themselfs they become immobilized.

with the new 1:1 repesentation i for myself find the bogging rules a bit generous.

you can give them the most insane routes in fast mode and they mostly make it.

however, it would be fun when vehicles wouldnt be glued to the ground and could "jump" and than "crash" on occasion, if path and movement speed wouldnt match each other. how cool would that be... :D
