imported_Steel_Rain
Howdy all, very old time CM player cruising back to see what is going on with the new game. Im am very happy to see CMII has been released but if I read all the noise correctly, the tcp/ip does not have WeGo? That cant be correct, can someone clarify for me please. Thanks. Phoenix
TCP/IP does not have Wego. True. That's about as good as I can clarify it.
Pandur
That cant be correct, can someone clarify for me please. however, it is officially said that there is at least a "slight" chance in geting TCPip WEGO with replay sometimes. and even, maybe, TCPip WEGO witout replay earlier more there isnt to say...
MarkEzra
WEGO is IN PBEM/Hot seat only. TCP/IP is for RT only. From one old timer to another buy the game and play WEGO like I am now. In case anyone cares to know: I always played CM as PBEM and never once played it TCP/IP...so I can't bitch much about TCP/IP which favors RT style play. Just seems a logical split to me
imported_Steel_Rain
Well, I can see from my reading that this is a super hot topic. CMFS is CC updated it seems. Oh well, Im sure Charles had his reasons, I will check back in a few months and see if it has moved back to the original concept, if not, thats ok too, I still have all the other CMs to play. Thanks for the clarification. Steel
imported_Steel_Rain
Mark, Nah, I hate RT games. No exeption, I am just not fast enough to deal with them and actually find them stressful to play. Im not sure the manditory pause concept will do it for me. But, in the end, its just a game, im not going to rant, just move on and see what happens. Take care. Steel
MarkEzra
Steel you are NOT reading me correctly. I play CM:SF. I play this game in WEGO only. It plays great and where there are issues BFC is fixing them. BFC as also decleared that it will ALWAYS support WEGO. I hope this is clear now
imported_Steel_Rain
Mark; No, I fully understand. I play with a group of friends, even to this day. Never PBEM, not even once and rarely against the AI. No WeGo in network play is puzzling to me and a deal breaker. Im sure CM:SF is an amazing game, just not going to fit with how I play. A few bugs here and there are no big deal, remember the first CM Im sure it will get sorted out and everyone will be happy. I will check back later in the year and see if it has WeGo network, if not, thats cool. Absolutly nothing wrong with CMBB at all Steel

gibsonm
Steel you can play TCP/IP as quasi WEGO by using a variation on PBEM. You save the file as per PBEM but to a network folder (use a server, personal file sharing, .Mac file space whatever) then your opponent opens it as if they had just received the email. It adds extra steps and means you can't chat or impose time limits like the "old" TCP/IP but it can be done.
