Other Means Posted September 3, 2005 Share Posted September 3, 2005 XML defines and holds the data, it's like a name/value pair codified. You then render it via XSLT (think there's other methods). It's about the most inefficient method of data transfer that you could possibly imagine, it also makes no sense without the XSLT & wouldn't allow non technical people to have a stab at it. XML and HTML were designed with different goals: XML was designed to describe data and to focus on what data is. HTML was designed to display data and to focus on how data looks.
