Jochen
Hi all! Did anybody see burning buildings yet, or spreading fire?? I remembered those effects in CMx1 - but have not seen them sofar! Greetings Jochen
Cpl Steiner
Good question. A week or so before CM:SF came out I played CM:AK's "Frulingswind" scenario, in which the Germans attack the US in desert conditions. The US mortared a patch of brush and set it alight. Within a few turns half the map was ablaze. With all the ordnance and tracer flying around in CM:SF I would have expected something to catch on fire.
Bimmer
Haven't seen fire yet, but I did notice today that artillery seems to knock the foliage off of bushes (and presumably trees, but there weren't any where I was dropping mortar rounds). That was pretty cool.
Kieme(ITA)
Foliage from trees will fall from both indirect and direct fire. From light fire too. This is quite great. I didn't noticed the complete absence of fire (but vehicles) though. Did you remember good old days in which a sherman on fire would se off an entire grain field? Those were days.
Capt. Toleran
I've seen bunkers catch fire. To be honest, out of all the combat vids from Iraq I've seen, I've only seen a structure catch fire once or twice. It seems like the mud or stone construction seems to reduce the chance of fire.
Mord
What was BFC's stand on this..fire? Will it be added at some point...at least for WWII. It was a pretty cool aspect of CM. Didn't happen a whole lot but always added some realism to the battle field as well as wow factor. Mord.
