Well yes and no Go to units in the editor, then after purchasing whatever you want take a wee look down at the bottom right of the screen. There is a small button called "rename". This allows you to rename the whole unit, so although you can't name your pixel truppen after friends and family you could rename the platoon or battalion "Task Force George" for example?
