Stuka
Roight! I'm busier with work than a one legged man in an arse kicking contest and yet I still find the time to remember and honour the tradition of ANZAC day. Where is the eldest Aussie on this great day hmmmm? At the Dawn Service? Nope. Leading the Cesspool Rememberance March? Nope. At the pub? Most probably. So it falls to your old Unca Stukey to shake you mob of miscreants awake and get you to stand to attention and salute the Aussie/Kiwi flags and remember the sacrifices made by our lads in WW1. We even had a dawn service here in Doha, attended by crowds of... oh....tens. However the ANZAC spirit lives on and will be rekindled at the ANZAC booze up being held at Rydges Hotel in lovely downtown Doha this evening. Where Aussie and Kiwi will drink toasts to each other, gamble on the games of two-up and most likely take the piss out of the 'merkins. In other words, another night like any other.

Nidan1
I drink to the memory of all ANZACs. Their great sacrifices in two world wars will never be forgotten. Raise your glasses lads.....Here's to the ANZACs.....Stand To!!!! With a little help from OGSF ; I've heard the lilting, at the yowe-milking, Lasses a-lilting before dawn o' day; But now they are moaning on ilka green loaning; "The Flowers of the Forest are a' wede away". As buchts, in the morning, nae blythe lads are scorning; The lasses are lonely and dowie and wae. Nae daffin', nae gabbin', but sighing and sobbing, Ilk ane lifts her leglen, and hies her away. In hairst, at the shearing, nae youths now are jeering, The Bandsters are lyart, and runkled and grey. At fair or at preaching, nae wooing, nae fleeching, The Flowers of the Forest are a' wede away. At e'en, in the gloaming, nae swankies are roaming, 'Bout stacks wi' the lasses at bogle to play. But ilk ane sits drearie, lamenting her dearie, The Flowers of the Forest are a' wede away. Dule and wae for the order sent our lads to the Border; The English, for ance, by guile wan the day: The Flowers of the Forest, that foucht aye the foremost, The prime o' our land are cauld in the clay. We'll hae nae mair lilting, at the yowe-milking, Women and bairns are dowie and wae. Sighing and moaning, on ilka green loaning, The Flowers of the forest are all wede away.
