As myself and several others said a long time ago at the original forum, a full world map will be mainly dead space where nothing ever occurs. Sure, you'd have a lot more options but you'd also have a lot more of nothing and nowhere to deal with!

Aside from which, from what I've seen in Hubert's descriptions of the map, the editor will allow it to be something like three times the size used in the game, just figure the scale you want and put it in. It would be tedious but not difficult to lay out as the system is box instead of hex.

I think a more relevant question would be whether you can travel round the world going east and west -- exit on the east edge and appear on the west edge and visa-versa. If you can't do that then you haven't got a true global possibility.

We all would.

But you have to be realistic,

can the game engine really handle that kind of map?

Do we really want every turn to take 10 times the ammount of time that it did before?

There have been territory expansions though,

N-America is bigger, Russia goes further east and I'm still hoping that, though there's little chance that he will, HC will include lapland.

A-31, sounds like your one of those sicko freaks that wants to subjugate world to do your bidding....Ha!.. wouldn't we all. :D What you looking for is HoI2, but still not as good as SC engine. One other thing you might consider until HC gets around to fulfilling our dream is SR 2010. Both are world settings, one WW2, the other modern. Then of course if your not into to hexes then WaW from GG is due in the Fall. But having looked into all of them extensively, they're not SC, our beloved.

HoI2 stands for hearts of iron 2? i have only seen hearts of iron. but the point of my post was to let HC know that there is alot of interest for a full world campain. there are many games out there but i have yet to find one that is as addicting as SC. as well i would like to see canada play a bigger role, i am from the magnificent country of canada and we are proud of our part that we played throughout the war smile.gif

Hearts Of Iron and HOI2 will take you a month or more of playing to conquer the world.

Whynot wait for 'Empire Deluxe ENHANCED Edition'-'Coming in -2004'(Other versions available now), you can conquer the world in a few evenings...with a large map. Mark Kinkhead is still mostly working on the AI. Check here frequently to see when it will be available.

Try this...this is the 1st computer wargame i had ... http://www.classicempire.com/

From---Walter Bright's Classic Empire

Wargame of the Century ...Creator-'Walter Bright'.

EMPIRE

empire2.jpg

earth.gif

'Empire is a simulation of a global conflict between two to three implacable foes. No compromise is possible, each must strive to annihilate the other. The war is conducted over a large map, with land, sea and cities on it. Each player manipulates his armies, fighters and ships to try and smash the others, to reach the goal of total domination of the world. Empire is not a video arcade-type game. It is a thinking man's game, as it requires strategy and tactics instead of hand-eye coordination.

Warning: Empire has been known to be addictive. Typical games can take several hours.'

This game is 30 Years old...so don't expect 2004 graphics...but, like chess or checkers, is still very entertaining.
