It appears to be a Pz III, but is that because BTS ran out of models (like the renault/hotchkiss, nimrod/ostwind) or because it is a variation of the Pz IV? Just curious. By the time the soviet tank commander could identify it, and yell at his gunner, "Hey, you might want to plug that (breath) Pz M15/42 738(I) (another breath) with an AT round!" they already had a 47mm shell pinging off the front of their tank. I don't know how many were captured by the Germans, but I know for sure that many P40, Semoventi da 75,105 and 149 were used by the Germans and the Italians against the Allies in Northern Italy. Some were used in Jugoslavia against Partisans in the Prinz Eugen div. IIRC. Some semoventis and P40s were even used at Anzio.
