CDV can take a running jump..

Sorry, but I'm sick and tired of this malarkey about games released first in the US and then the rest of the world (and in WW2OL's case, England being behind the rest of Europe and EB/Game claiming they hadn't even HEARD of the game well after itd been released in the US, sold by EB US, and the European release date days away, the UK one supposedly shortly behind it).

If CDV are also following this long, stupid and dishonourable trend - and kudos to the chaps at Battlefront for TRYING to get their game released worldwide simulataneously - then I for one simply will not deal with them. I'd rather pay an American friend to ship me copies from there than put money in the pocket of a company that plays silly buggers with the distribution, AND I dont want to give any money to a company that sells such sad (presumably) soft porn (no pun intended) as the rest of its catalogue, either.

I havent yet the first CM, because I was introduced to the demo just before CMBB (which interests me more) was advertised as being imminent. I really wanted to order the twin pack, buy both games at a reduced price. I still want to. I dont mind paying the shipping charges from the US for games this good. Isn't there ANY facility for buying direct from the US for folks in the UK??

I certainly feel somewhat cheated by CDV already and they havent had a penny from me yet (nor will they ever now).

Games, and movies, and all sorts of other thigns for that matter, are usually released in a company's home country, whichever country that happens to be, before it is released to the rest of the world. Even this is more a matter of the time it takes to make localized versions as opposed to some kind of discrimination. German games are released in Germany before they get to the US, if they get to the US. Hong Kong movies are...wait for it...released in Hong Kong before the rest of the world.

It's not like Europe is being unfairly singled out for universal release delays...

Michael, in case you didn't see it in the other threads, CDV is not even capable of giving the UK folks a definite delivery date. And there were folks contacting them with no answer. So...

I don't doubt it, but what good is posting it here? BFC already knows that people are POed with CDV, and Lord knows the forum regulars are aware of it.

What can I or anyone do to help the situation? I'd be glad to help, if you can think of anything I might be able to do.

I don't understand the issues that most people seem to have with CDV. If it weren't for the CDV release, I would have never gotten my hands on CMBO, since shopping on the Internet is too cumbersome without a credit card.

I had been planning to get CMBO ever since it was released, but due to the difficulties in ordering it, I eventually gave up on the idea. You can imagine the pleasant surprise I had when I saw the game in my local games store.

CDV allows CMBB to reach a much wider audience, which will make it easier for Battlefront to keep developing outstanding products. So stop your whining.

I posted as I did to let the chaps that make CMBB know how strongly I feel about the situation. I dont very often visit here (yet) because I havent got either game (yet). Regarding why I posted here rather than to CDV, it's because CDV clearly dont give a monkeys, whereas CMBBs designers do. My hope is that the latter may eventually find some way for us non-US folks to be able to obtain CMBB without having to go through the likes of CDV. But why would they bother if they don't hear folks opinion? So here's my personal opinion...

Also note that there's nothing that says that a company HAS to release it in their home country before the rest of the world, and indeed, CDV have gone against the express wishes of CMBBs developers in NOT releasing the game in Europe at the same time it's being released in the US.

PS: Lobo; there's no need to be rude. I can't play a game that hasn't been released by CDV, can I? Nor do I want to buy from a shop that sells porn. Plenty of other software retailers - plus I don't have a credit card, either - but a debit card works just as well and is easier to obtain.

Best i read so far about this topic...

I can remember day`s long before, some games hwo were released in the states, but never reached europe at all. CM isnt a game like the Sims or Warcraft with millions of selled copies, so its probably more difficult to start a "World-Wide" release date. Yes its easy to say, got it on the 20. but hell, i was waiting two or more years to get my hands on a eastfront CM game, and others start whinning treads, while theyr wait some couple days longer.

The way BFC goes is the right one, IMHO.
