1Sascha
Just bought CMBB today, and was dissapointed to see CDV have translated the game for the German market. Seems they've also cleansed the "usual supspects" (no Waffen-SS mentioned in the manual, just "Waffengrenadiere" LOL!). Anyhow: I just hope there's a way to change the language back to english, is anyone already aware of a way to do this? One more question: Do the sound / graphics / flags / etc. mods for CM: BO work for CM: BB as well? Sascha
Panzer76
Please, do a search. This has been discussed to DEATH, and is hardly anything new. Regarding the names etc in the CMBB, the answer is no. Now be glad you have the game and play it, 95 % of us is waiting for it!
Andreas
A lot of the graphics mods won't work because the models for the vehicles have changed. Not sure about the others.
1Sascha
LOL Panzer! Didn't wanna start a redundant thread, but I don't read this board regularly. If I had known that CDV were going to "clean up" the german version, I would've waited for the international release... . Sascha
Apache
What international release?
Andreas
One reason why it was translated BTW - Neudeutsch is not that well spoken by all potential customers in Germany. Have a look at the CDV board.

1Sascha
LOL Para! Well, it looks like I was a bit premature with my scream of terror here. The translation is actually quite good, compared with what german players had to put up with in other games in the past. Some minor glitches are there however. For those of you who speak German: "Schwerer/Leichter Maschinengewehr" (should be "Schweres/Leichtes", "Kampfwille" (why not stick with "Moral"?) Munition "Gering" (low) is too long a word to fit into the ammo indicator, etc. Like I said: There seem to be more correct translations and ones fitting the context ("festgenagelt", "abgekämpft", etc.) than I could find errors yet, so please excuse my premature whine. Now all I need are some better samples, historical flags and designations and I'm set... Sascha
ParaBellum
Yep, same opinion here. The german manual is well translated, some minor quibble but nothing that would cause me a headache. I've read much worse english manuals... The briefings I've read so far are all pretty good, a typo here and there but overall very good quality. The most important info is in the printed manual, and 90 pages now a days isn't bad anyway. So, as far as I'm concerned, BFC/CDV did a good job here. When I emailed CDV when I could expect CMBB to be delivered I got a personal answer within two days. ParaBellum
Hehe, some passages reminded me of another manual that's somewhere on my bookshelf. But then, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Smaragdadler
The flags are the same bmps as in CMBO (420 and 440) you can even use a old CMBO-patch. To change the insignia in the scenario-selection use a paint-program on 11240.bmp. The only problem is to change this "Waffengrenadiere" in "Himmrich Heinler's Essen-WafWaf"... Chupacabra
Pure curiosity on my part, since I'm in the US: ParaBellum, on some of the screenshots you posted the battle type on the bottom of the screen showed "Sturmangri--" which I'm assuming was meant to be "Sturmangriff". Did a lot of things like that get cut off?
ParaBellum
Actually the "Sturmangriff" was the only one I noticed. No problems with "Begegnungsgefecht", though... I think I saw another one or two words cut short but can't say for sure. Definately no problem for me.
Michael Dorosh
Historical flags are available at my GD website, below - I assume you mean the hakenkreuz flags, yes?
