So how powerful IS a fifty cal?

The Mower

Philip Larkin

The mower stalled, twice; kneeling, I found

A hedgehog jammed up against the blades,

Killed. It had been in the long grass.

I had seen it before, and even fed it, once.

Now I had mauled its unobtrusive world

Unmendably. Burial was no help:

Next morning I got up and it did not.

The first day after a death, the new absence

Is always the same; we should be careful

Of each other, we should be kind

While there is still time.

The .50BMG has on the order of 14000ft-lbs of energy at the muzzle.

kind of off topic re CM but I have heard that rounds fired from an m16 create a small static charge which can damage nearby electronics, anyone truth to this? If so, does this hold true for all high velocity rounds or is it something to do with the tumbling?

If you study the armor specs in CMBO, you will find that the cassis of the Pz IV is 20mm at the rear. All Pz IV derivates, including Jagd- and Flakpanzer and the StuG IV are vulnerable to the .50cal.

The StuG III is not, it has no 20mm plates. Neither has the Jagdtiger.

Geez!

Here y'all are talking about taking out PZ mk IV's with a .50 Caliber, while I, on the other hand, have my guys die because a German HALFTRACK shrugged off a direct hit at 50 meters range from a BAZOOKA. The halftrack then killed my bazooka :(
