John Kettler
It's well known that mortar carriers in CMBO suffer severely because they're prevented from using HQs to spot and tend to die quickly because of their exposure occasioned by direct lay methods. By contrast, their nonmotorized siblings have the option of direct lay but typically use indirect lay via HQs and TRPs, thus are far more survivable than their self-propelled equivalents. Has this rather severe hit on self-propelled mortar carriers been fixed in CMBB, or are mortar carriers still going to be hurting and largely defanged? It would be really nice to see mortar carriers able to use their mobility and protection without also becoming enforced targets for direct fire weaponry. flamingknives
From what I hear, yes, mortar carriers will be able to fire indirectly. For more info, and to beat the crowd - Do a search.
Panzer Leader
I might have missed something, but I didn't think this had been changed.
Le Tondu
Wow, I certainly hope that it is changed from CMBO. I NEVER use mortar carriers (if I can help it) because of their inability to indirect fire. That is a MAJOR flaw in my opinion. They could've been left completely out and I never would have missed them. Here is to being optimistic for CMBB and pleasantly discovering that mortar carriers can indirect fire like regular mortar teams.
