THEJACKEL123
Is CMBB going to be an add on or a complete new game?
Barticus
CMBB will be a self-enclosed game. As you may expect, although based on the same engine as CMBO, there are numerous 'upgrades' being applied to the game engine. Due for release (it is rumoured) sometime in the June/July timeframe. THEJACKEL123
Is it going to be release in the UK around the same time, as the orginal is finally comming out this friday
MikeyD
CMBB was originally forecast to be a slightly modified CMBO on the Eastern Front, but it sounds like the changes/improvements will be so vast that it'll be just like the movie "The Matrix" -- a probe will be inserted into the back of your head and you'll be downloaded into a virtual Eastern Front world indistinguishable from the real thing! Cool! Only problem is, like The Matrix, if you die in the game you die in real life too. Imagine all the product liability lawsuits!
THEJACKEL123
I haven't even played the first one, is it worth getting when it comes out on friday, and also can you control aircraft
Captain Wacky
Yes its worth it. CMBO has never left my cd drive in the 18 months I've had it. I could wax on about how great it is, but that pretty much sums it up. But it now. BTW, you can't control aircraft per se, they attack targets at their will. IronChef4
Yes, and no. . . .the aircfaft are indirectly controlled. You may have them available to you, but have no direct control over when they arrive or what they target on the battlefield. Rarely, they don't even show up. But definetly "yes" to the first question.
THEJACKEL123
Sorry one last question. Are there beaches and Bridges?
MikeyD
You can't control the aircraft, but that shouldn't deter you. I always get a kick out of the airplane's appearance and how BTS did it. An aircraft shadow flashes across the landscape at what looks like true speed. Your AA assets can track the flight coming and going (red target line from your gun up to the unseen plane above). The bombs dropping from the sky ih a ballistic trajectory. It's a hoot!
Soddball
Can I suggest you download the demo from the Battlefront website and have a go - try before you buy, and all that
IronChef4
Bridges, yes. Beaches, no. . .but there is a rather nice beach graphics mod that can take care of that problem.
MikeyD
Another thing to mention to prospective buyers: The do-your-own scenario 3-D map making feature that's included. Want to construct a snow-covered valley shrouded in fog at midnight? It can be done! Want to fight Polish flamethrowers vs aged Volkstrum units? It can be done!
